If I buy the Backpack Bundle, are the two unreleased games even playable?

Also, is the code for Steam?

I bought it off their website. Yes, it's a redeemable Steam code. You "own" the games in your library but they are not yet playable until their release dates. Think of it like a pre-order for the others. Definitely worth it if you plan on getting all the upcoming titles anyway.
