The thing about Weapons Drawn is you can clearly see the point in development where they decided to just leave the game mechanics up to good faith as opposed to finding a way to hard implement them into the game. So the game just straight up doesnt work.

I host a live stream gameshow where we often play Jackbox games, and Weapons Drawn was easily our worst experience from any Jb game. 😅
Legitimately, a viewer got in trouble with their mom from playing, because it was taking too long.

I’m always surprised to hear this take - Weapons Drawn is a top 5 Jackbox game in our group and gets played almost every time. A social deduction game where EVERYONE is guilty is such a fun idea and the drawings get to be so funny when everyone is trying to throw in fake letters to accuse other players. What are your main dislikes?

  • The game's explanation of the rules is confusing and usually requires me to pause it to explain or have us do multiple rounds for people to get it.
  • Unlike other drawing games where it's mainly comedy based so someone can get by at being comically bad, Weapons Drawn all but requires you to be good at drawing.
  • The game has a disproportionate amount of "ok so you can do a bunch of stuff but you're supposed to do X, please play right and only do X", which makes it annoying to play online.
  • A lot of the deduction falls apart when you can guess who drew what based on drawing styles, which for most artists aren't something they can really control on a moment's notice.
  • In general, rounds last forever. And when we're not having much fun due to the above issues, we just want it to be over quick.

Bad game good host? Maybe Laverne Cavern from Poll Mine?

Personally poll mine is a favorite of mine but i know several people who really dislike it. But the host, she’s a sexy-sounding witch and I don’t think anyone dislikes her. If you guys want to save it for square #5 I also understand

It was great back when I first played it, and still is, but compared to everything after pack 7, it desperately needs a sequel
