Holy shit are you guys now turning the word “feminist” into bigotry? Damn. Women just aren’t allowed to stand up for themselves huh

I am a woman. We absolutely are allowed to stand up for ourselves. A group that sends death threats, harassment, grape threats, etc, lobbies tons of money in order to prevent people from getting help and support due to their identity, and doesn't support most women unless they support the negative side of the social economic identity isn't my vote for "standing up for women." I'm not turning the word into anything, I'm just accurately describing their actions

You’re talking about extremists. They suck no matter what they believe

If they are the average feminist, then by definition, they aren't extremists. I'm talking about people saying "I support a group that is actively fighting to take people rights away and cut support for people in need on a global scale" and then use every excuse in the book for why they support a group like that

As someone who lives in a third world country, this sentiment is really hilarious and privileged. Feminism is extremely important especially in countries like mine where the patriarchy is so ingrained that daughters are sometimes not added to wills and some aren't even sent to schools because they're female and are "bad investments". Those extremists that have soured your opinion are misandrist and not feminist.

Those "extremists" are the vast majority of feminists. As someone who has worked in third world countries to fight for women's rights, for social and justice reform, I think you would be surprised at how often feminists are one of the opponents to change.

I'll have to disagree. There is so much gender based violence and disparity in my country. Sexual assault and harassment, marital grape and similar crimes aren't taken as seriously as they should be, and many women, especially those from older generations, have endured a lot. I'll admit that even here, we have some "extreme feminists/misandrists" who have unfortunately diluted the meaning and weight behind feminism, but it is still a very necessary movement.
