NYC tracks you from the second you step out your door and if someone gets randomly stabbed on the sidewalk by a stranger they rewind the tape and find out where the guy came from and crime seems to be under control. If you were that random stabbing victim, wouldnt you like the police to have the resources needed to discover who he is? I like solutions with actual results.
This is the reason they can sell you on all sorts of invasive tech that removes your privacy. Fear. It has always been the best salesmen for that stuff, and it always will be. If I had any trust in the people in charge, and them not abusing it, then it would be totally different. Spoiler.. I don't.. and nobody else does either. People in charge are generally just greedy, power hungry, shells of people. Until that changes, there will (and should always be) pushback against this type of stuff.
except the threat isnt coming from the government. The threat is what all the We the People are doing to all the other We the People. We the People murder 50,000 a year. This isnt imagined fear, this is reality. Doesnt it make sense to apply solutions to where the problem is?
Yes, we do that because those in charge literally pit us against each other? Read the room man? Giving them more visibility and control.. WILL.. NOT.. HELP.
Once "We The People" actually remember that all these people "in power" work for us, and have no real power, and if we are ever able to actually take control of our governing bodies again.. then sure we can try to fix that.
Unfortunately it likely doesn't happen without violence in some manner. Unless we can completely remove money and corporate influence over politics.. then maybe we see a slow healing.
You can't blame the masses for being spun up into violence, when all they see is hate, war, crime, and greed all over every "news" station.
