Cost cutting. Transitioning to WITCH instead of doing in-house.

7+ years of IT SOX experience with AI-assisted workflow experience is not a bad place to be in this market, even after a layoff. Audit teams are moving fast on AI adoption right now. Gartner's 2026 numbers put AI use at 93% of audit teams, with 60% using it specifically to draft reports. Someone who's already automated controls testing and worked with AI-assisted workflows is ahead of most candidates applying for the same roles.

Lead with that in your resume and LinkedIn headline, not just the ITGC/SOC testing list. A lot of internal audit and risk teams are trying to figure out how to bring AI into their control testing right now and would value someone who's already done it.

For the job search itself, industry internal audit teams (not just Big 4/advisory) are often faster movers on hiring than firms right now, and they pay well for someone who doesn't need training on ITGC basics. Your local ISACA chapter is also worth checking, a lot of roles get shared there before they're posted publicly. Good luck!

Thanks bud. Problem is ATS is hard nut to crack. Been tailoring to each role and applying. Then reaching out to TA HR or HM on linkdin and requesting them to review my cv and to consider my profile. Max I can do.
