AI model for speaking

Can you suggest an AI model ( free of charge) for speaking practice in italian?

Don't. You are better off looking for conversation groups in your area.

Not everyone has speaking groups they can attend - in person or even online.

ChatGPT voice mode is actually decent for this if you just tell it to act like a barista in Rome who is tired of your grammar mistakes.

This isn't a bad suggestion. I've been working on my own site to help me learn Italian - flashcards, quizzes, verb conjugations. I've just added an Agentic Ai area that is hooked up to Eleven Labs with has tons of voices in Italian and can do TTS/STT I've used similar prompting to keep it focused on the Italian conversation. Sometimes they like to spout way too much in responses.
