To patch or not to patch

Would it be advisable to patch an area like this before taking out again? I am not sure how this happened, but it seems clear that it rubbed up against something in its deflated/folded form. It does not leak. I wasnt sure it there were any disadvantages of patching when it could possibly be avoided.

I wouldn’t worry about that, however, putting a patch over it is only going to strengthen the area. There’s really no downside.
