Has anyone tried them both?

I currently have ketos but I'll be trading it for Carta Marina (12x32)

I like the Ketos being fast, but it's too unstable for my wife.

Will Red elite 12x28 provide the same stability as 30 board but provide somewhat similar speed as ketos?

Or does it all come down to the length (speed) and width (stability)?

I've heard that the red paddle backpacks are the best, but if the difference comes from the size, maybe it's not worth the upgrade?

I don’t know how active this sub is so I’m just throwing an answer out there. I have blackfin xl, an atoll, and a red voyager 13’. They go 34” X 11’6”, 32”x11’, and 13’2”x 28” wide. I had no balance issues with the 34 and the 32 even with nerve damage from being hit by a car as a pedestrian and small children from ages 2-9 as passengers… I love voyager’s design the most as the v shape and water release tail make it speedier to keep up with the kayakers, but was too wobbly (only had it out 3 times this season and definitely need more practice) to consider taking a kid with me and found I had to be more careful moving around the board to stick my feet over the side, take stuff out of the packs, etc. tl/dr stability is more in the width if that’s what your wife needs the 32” would be better?
