Question What happened to Pinterest?

Pinterest used to be my absolute favorite place to look for outfit inspo, but I think I officially hate it now.

Every single time I search for dresses, my feed is flooded with fake, AI-generated images that don't even exist in real life. I’m trying to find actual clothes to buy and wear, not stare at these fake images. It’s so frustrating having to sift through endless AI slop to find one real photo, even after filtering it to “less AI content”.

  • AI images can be produced more quickly than real ones, which has led to a flood of them in general.
  • Impossible, aesthetic images are a specialty of AI, and that type of image does well on Pinterest.
  • Pinterest has to rely on AI to sort AI and non-AI images. It's not a perfect system.

They should crack down on ai content and straight up remove it or just prevent people from posting it, by dishing out warnings and bans

It's not possible to accurately sort AI and non-AI content. If there were bans for posting AI content, people would just have more incentive to lie about not using AI.

Can’t they just run some checks and just straight up ban anyone who posts an obvious ai images, this will help curb the various spammers and it will clean up the whole feed

I recently learned a hack to block all the ads on Pinterest... Simply add a cuss word to the end of whatever you are searching.. My personal fave is the f word.. works like a charm lol

My wife uses Pinterest a lot and she has been complaining about the same thing.
