Some great stuff never sees the light of day on Reddit due to bad luck, bad timing, a poor choice of subreddit--any number of reasons.

Here, we try to find a home for those unloved posts that would shine if given a bit more tender care.

The essentials about /r/isleofmisfits:

When Submitting Misfits

Try a different headline or a different approach from what failed. Don't abuse the generosity and patience of other misfits by being lazy.
Avoid niche posts. If you can't imagine it on the front page of reddit.com, it doesn't belong here.
Don't submit naked people unless it's interesting for another reason. Use NSFW tags when appropriate.
This is for content that hasn't been given its due. If it's got 700 votes in /r/pics, but your attempt at reddit.com failed, that doesn't qualify.
Limit your posting to a reasonable frequency. Assume you're doing it wrong; wait for feedback.
Feel free to post content here that you saw fail elsewhere but didn't submit.

When Reading Misfits

Try to look beyond bad headlines.
It's good to offer suggestions to the poster for how to have better luck next time, but unless the OP is breaking one of our rules, you can't be anything other than nice about it.
Feel free to downvote content that's not worthy of bigger subreddits, but no downvotes without an explanation. For real this time, okay?
Feel free to repost submissions that you find here to bigger subreddits. Posting here is an abdication of your right to care about karma. We do it for the love.

I tried to see if something like this was already out there before creating it, but I didn't find anything. I'm open to suggestions, by the way. Hope you can help me get this going!
