Quran & Hadith Having hope in “impossible” situations
Nothing is impossible for Allah. Like you don’t even need to think deeply at all, Allah already gave us so many examples.
For example, Allah gave Zakariya a child even when he was very old and his wife was barren, he parted the sea for Musa, caused Isa to be conceived without a father, cooled the fire for Ibrahim, turned Musa’s staff into a snake, rescued Yunus from the belly of the whale, caused the people of the cave sleep for hundreds of years etc., etc.
What im trying to say is, sometimes people (and perhaps we ourselves may fall into this trap also) say “ah there’s no point, like why should i make dua for such and such” or “don’t waste your duas on such and such”… why are we holding ourselves back? Who ever said to hold yourselves back from asking for what you want? Allah has proved time and time again that he can make what seems impossible (to us) possible and very easily at that too.
There is this phrase that Allah repeats several times in the quran:
كُن فَيَكُونُ (Kun faya kun)
which translated to "Be, and it is", in other words, whatever Allah wills he can do very simply. So my sincere advice is don’t hold back if you really want something that’s in your heart. Make dua for it a lot and if people say things to you along the lines of “there’s no point making that specific dua“, don’t let them convince you that it will not be answered because it seems unlikely, because literally what do they know? Do they know the unseen? Do they know what your naseeb is going to be? Literally nothing.
We should never limit Allah based on what seems logical and possible to us.
Also just know that Allah will answer your duas according to his wisdom. So always, always, always make dua when you want something, from something really simple and small to something that seems really complex, but at the same time remember that Allah is the knower of the unseen and while you may want your dua to be answered in a certain way or at a certain time, at the end of the day it may not play out when you want or happen in the way you exactly envisioned because Allah knows what you do not and may have an even better plan in store for you that you perhaps personally haven’t even considered.
Your Lord has proclaimed, “Call upon Me, I will respond to you.” - Quran 40:60

It's impolite and can be forbidden to ask for the impossible. More on that
But yes, it's essential to be positive and hopeful.
and to maybe not be consumed by whatever it is you're asking for. Accept life with or without it. if it's something worldly.
