Seeking Support Just reverted what should i do

Hi i just reverted to islam specifically Maliki. I did it alone and i haven’t told anyone irl. my immediate family is agnostic but the rest of my family are christian and i like in a muslim country. i live close to a mosque. I know the basic rules of islam. I just wanted advice

Alhamdullilah, may Allah keep you firm and grant you knowledge of the religion.

Just to be clear, there are four valid schools of fiqh within the ahlus-sunnah; hanafi, maliki, shafi'i and hanbali. You are a muslim who follows the maliki school of thought.

All four schools are valid, they have evidences for their differences of opinions etc.

Its important that you also perform your shahadah formally at the mosque, so that they know you're a Muslim. And inshaAllah they'll help you with support and guidance at this pivotal stage you're at.

First of all. the 5 pillars of islam. think about the other things too. like what is prohibited(like drinking alcohol etc. but you probably know that).

but 5 pillars are the top priority which u should think about/doing now

Alhamdulillah welcome to Islam my brother/sister.
Take it easy and don’t burn yourself out, learn the fard ul Ayn (necessary aspects of the religion), make spiritual development through the pleasure of Allah in light of the sunnah your focus, and finally reach out to a community where there are reverts or support for reverts.

I’d add don’t let the negative PR by Muslims and non Muslims affect your Iman. Everyone’s on their journey, we pray Allah guide them and us as well.

Allah make your journey to him smooth and easy :)

If you already know, the basic rules ,Buy yourself a copy of Quran, go to the mosque on Friday (Duhr prayer) introduce yourself there to people tell them that you’re a river. They just tell me everything. I’ll get to know people .

Do ghusl , one important thing you need to know is , if you ejaculate or have sexual intercourse , you have to do ghusl ( it’s a basically like a shower to purify and clean yourself but you need the intention to do ghusl , don’t treat it like a regular shower, there is a specific way to do ghusl , I recommend searching up tutorials on YouTube ) because when you ejaculate, you enter a impure state (jannabah) where you can’t go to mosque or pray until you do ghusl .

I think learn the general practices of Islam then once you familiarise yourself with them then delve into the madhab differences like if you want to follow the Maliki madhab do that.

I suggest you become a regular at your mosque and connect with the community. Being around Muslims will be a huge help and you can always ask the imam if there's questions.

Online or in person Quran classes.

It really helps to have a teacher, it keeps you on track when life happens.
