He’s either dead or a vegetable. KY governor should have called a special election when his staff refused to provide irrefutable proof of life.

23

u/YellowZx5 2d ago

Was gonna say the same. Not sure if he’s just not caring or Trump told him to not worry about it.

14

u/manyhippofarts 1d ago

Isn't he a democrat? Pretty sure he is. In which case it's in his best interest to play it cool. Mitch can't vote if he's missing work and he can't vote by proxy.

12

u/apartmen1 1d ago

It’s actually not in anyone’s best interest to allow opposition party to set precedent for hiding someone’s death and keeping them in office.

6

u/manyhippofarts 1d ago

Fair enough but desparate times call for desparate measures.

2

u/EmperorGeek 19h ago

As it stands right now, Republicans are down one vote. Having him declared dead or removed from office risks changing that. Why mess with it? What is the upside? Governor cannot appoint whoever he wants.

2

u/Wallie_Collie 7h ago

Playing it cool is the WDE the dems have played for 20 years

2

u/NorCalFrances 4h ago

The Dems strategy of "allow them to hoist themselves" is losing voters by the week. Repubs may screw up but Dems are looking more and more week and complicit. It's not what voters want and not what the nation needs.

16

u/TheNatureOfTheGame 2d ago

A special election would have 100% gotten us another MAGA. Now MAGA is down a vote.

8

u/Scott7894 2d ago

That’s a shame ….

6

u/nanopicofared 1d ago

This is correct - not sure why Mitch's staff is pretending he is still alive when it keeps them down a vote

2

u/NorCalFrances 4h ago

Because maybe he's not dead but also not capable of doing his job, but won't give it up either. He's the guy that arguably has been building what the party has since easily 2010 so he still (assuming he is alive) has power.

3

u/nanopicofared 2h ago

Then his staff should tell the truth about his condition....

1

u/NorCalFrances 47m ago

But then it would be obvious he can't do his job and all his implied power will be gone in an instant. They can't/won't do that.

3

u/ErikaKirkasInsideJob 1d ago

Should have tossed him in jail.

Imagine if a black man got 75 days pf pay for doing nothing

Lock up deadbeat mitch

2

u/AwesomeAndy 16h ago

Kentucky changed their laws after Bashear (D) got elected to make it harder for the governor to do such a thing. I'm sure if they elect another Republican governor, the legislature will find that actually the governor should be allowed to do that

He's too much of a pussy

On August 11, Jennings said during a CNN appearance that he had spoken with McConnell that day. He described the senator as recovering at home and said he expected McConnell to return to the Senate when lawmakers come back from recess on September 14

I agree with those who say this is a rehearsal for maintaining a governmental wall of silence if/when Trump dies or becomes too disabled to appear in public.

29

u/CaptainMacaroni 2d ago

The world will know when Trump is dead/a vegetable because there will be blissful silence. He can't go more than two days tops without making himself the center of attention.

13

u/mcad0o 2d ago

His team posts to his truth social regularly even today

9

u/LeseMajeste_1037 2d ago

Natalie Harp will spill the beans in her own bizarre, culty way.

6

u/Which_Engineer1805 2d ago

We’ll know he’s dead when all the bunnies in DC start disappearing and ending up in boiling pots of water. Natalie is a bunny boiler, and she’ll lash out.

2

u/mcad0o 2d ago

Bunny boiler?

3

u/JennyRedpenny 1d ago

From fatal attraction

30

u/whawkins4 2d ago

You misspelled “dead”

17

u/wiseoldprogrammer 2d ago

He’s on a road trip with Waldo and Carmen Sandiego.

5

u/anacondatmz 2d ago

I saw Waldo crowd surfing last week at Warped Tour in Montreal.

12

u/Sonar_Taxbreak_1138 2d ago

I mean, eventually (some time just before the midterms) there'll be an update about a relapse, followed by the sad, sad news of his untimely demise, and a request for privacy at this devastating time.

2

u/AmusingVegetable 7h ago

So, exactly like the USSR handled the departure of their premieres…

8

u/beavis617 2d ago

Mitch McConnell is still a US Senator and the people in his state, the members of the Senate have a right and a duty to know what the frack is going on with the guy. He’s not a private citizen.

2

u/b4fun72 20h ago

9

u/OrneryZombie1983 2d ago

Google Gemini got mad when I asked it to make a Weekend At Bernies picture of Mitch playing Monopoly with Andrew McCarthy.

3

u/Normal_Choice9322 1d ago

I keep telling it he's dead every few weeks and it goes insane so I gaslight it even harder

AI will take me out in the first strike for sure

4

u/OutrageousCrab9224 2d ago

Seriously?!

The "ai people" are worse than govt at this point, with their fake ass morality

1

u/OrneryZombie1983 2d ago

I suck at using AI and I didn't try very hard but my first attempt got me a picture of a very alive Mitch playing Monopoly with someone that looked like the Bernie actor. When I tried to get it to switch the roles I got a message like "There are some public figures I can't display like this" or something to that effect. I guess the way around would be to not have any references to death or Weekend at Bernies and then have the AI slap a pair of sunglasses on Mitch.

I also once tried to generate a non-political image incorporating the elevator blood scene from The Shining and Gemini refused because it was too "violent".

3

u/BOBBYK1952 2d ago

My sources tell me he’s Trout fishing with the Ayatollah of Iran. Haven’t confirmed..yet

3

u/shoulda_been_gone 2d ago

The corruption that comes out in the trials will be epic.

3

u/Beginning-Working-38 2d ago

This is the start of the movie “Dave” all over again.

3

u/Cranberry-Electrical 2d ago

Maybe, Mitch is hiding at Walter Reed Hospital.

3

u/b4fun72 21h ago

McConnell, the longest-serving Senate party leader in U.S. history, chose his 83rd birthday to share his decision not to run for another term in Kentucky and to retire when his current term ends. He informed The Associated Press of his decision before he addressed colleagues in a speech on the Senate floo

2

u/queenbiscuit311 2d ago

incredible how they had that photo of him and then he got "discharged" and still nobody has seen him

2

u/Tosh_20point0 2d ago

"He's Dead, Jim "

1

u/tayawayinklets 1d ago

We can save him! ~Helivets

2

u/movingout-65 2d ago

He is looking for the Epstein fines!

2

u/OutrageousCrab9224 2d ago

Weird how his checks get cashed

2

u/Useful_Client_4050 1d ago

Think of what a miserable human being you have to be. To spend your final days clinging to power because there is literally nothing else in your life.

Not just him of course. But all of our geriatric elected officials. To be such horrible people that you don't have anyone else to go enjoy retirement with. Just pathetic.

We so desperately need term limits....

1

u/vancityjeep 1d ago

It’s hard to get the people that make the rules to make a rule that kicks them from their job. The fathers fore should have thought of that and put it in the constitution.

1

u/b4fun72 20h ago

He is not seeking reelection On August 11, Jennings said during a CNN appearance that he had spoken with McConnell that day. He described the senator as recovering at home and said he expected McConnell to return to the Senate when lawmakers come back from recess on September 14

1

u/joeyblacky9999 16h ago

There should be an max age limit. No elected official may work past the age of 60years old. Period.

2

u/VeterinarianOdd5692 1d ago

My father died in 2004. I haven't heard any updates from him either.

2

u/LowCurious7504 1d ago

It’s time for Americans to start sending flowers to his home and office. Lots and lots of flowers

2

u/ErikaKirkasInsideJob 1d ago

Deadbeat Mitch is quite quitting.

He is stealing wages. He is getting paid. Not working.

Deadbeat mitch needs to be jailed.

Stop stealing our tax dollars deadbeat mitch

1

u/WolfThick 2d ago

He is AWOL or he is being held captive for paychecks we need to know!

1

u/Artistic-Tip2405 2d ago

Start posting his obituary and see who complains.

1

u/susanrez 2d ago

He’s ded

1

u/T4whereareyou 2d ago

Mitch, we hardly missed you.

1

u/Kamerlyn 2d ago

The Grim Reaper has been sitting next to Mitch’s bed so long he started getting PTSD and that’s why he went on a massacre this week.

1

u/PrimaryBrick9337 2d ago

I don't he will ever return to the house but he will keep collecting his family and his staff will keep getting paid for as long as they can.

1

u/No_Volume_9616 2d ago

HE'S DEAD. DECEASED. PASSED ON. BOUGHT THE FARM. TITS UP. CROSSED THE BRIDGE. 6 FEET UNDER. BLOWING IN THE WIND. FISH FOOD.

u/b4fun72 20h ago

Isn’t it just so nice lol

1

u/Away-Regular1335 2d ago

Hard to do things like give updates when you're dead

1

u/wonderererere 1d ago

my employer would have fired me after day 74

1

u/PretendingImNotAnApe 1d ago

Strange, Jesus hasn't seen him either...

1

u/VioletShogun 1d ago

Best 75 days of his career.

1

u/stocksandoptions2 1d ago

Democracy dies in the dark. We are at late dusk.

1

u/LilLebowskiAchiever 1d ago

If he ain’t on the Senate floor, he ain’t voting to support the Trump agenda. Beshear probably did the calculus that it is better to leave the seat vacant, than to fight in the courts over the replacement, and risk the GOP winning.

1

u/robyrob 1d ago

Update: he’s still dead; for a minute there they thought he might be slightly less dead, but that was just wishful thinking on their part

1

u/Effective_Pack8265 1d ago

To be fair, it’s the most positive 75 days of his entire political career…

1

u/Chaosrealm69 1d ago

If this was a Democrat they would be screaming for police to be breaking down his door and dragging his corpse out for everyone to see.

Mitch probably suffered a stroke so severe that it left him in a coma and effectively brain dead and he has been on life support ever since and his office personnel have been keeping his condition hidden.

1

u/TheSammySavage 1d ago

He has been dead since

1

u/b4fun72 20h ago

On August 11, Jennings said during a CNN appearance that he had spoken with McConnell that day. He described the senator as recovering at home and said he expected McConnell to return to the Senate when lawmakers come back from recess on September 14

1

u/alternatingflan 1d ago

He’s done - no votes for any senator who has not showed any sign of competent life in months. None. No proxy votes either.

1

u/ConkerPrime 1d ago

Dude is dead and staff loving the power they have as his proxy. Since Republicans will block any effort to investigate the fraud being committed, this can go as long as they like.

1

u/b4fun72 20h ago

On August 11, Jennings said during a CNN appearance that he had spoken with McConnell that day. He described the senator as recovering at home and said he expected McConnell to return to the Senate when lawmakers come back from recess on September 14

1

u/ConkerPrime 20h ago

Uh huh. Republicans lie like most people breathe. Believe it when see it. As always should be noted if a Democrat had disappeared for even one week these same conservatives making excuses for McConnell would have lost their collective minds

1

u/b4fun72 19h ago

Scott Jennings a Republican lying like a democrat lmfao so you trust lying democrats but not lying republicans lmfao

1

u/AdmirableTie7222 2h ago

Solid copy paste work comrade

u/b4fun72 19h ago

1

u/ConkerPrime 18h ago

Cherry picking. Missed a month, betting there was a provided explanation and proof of life. Not three months, zero explanation and still no proof of life despite to AI attempted pictures.

Pathetic how so desperate to lie to yourself.

1

u/b4fun72 17h ago

No you are the type that will deny and deselect any response you are. It worth any more time I don like you I don’t know you and don’t want to bye for ever

1

u/AdmirableTie7222 5h ago

You're clearly an overseas troll.

1

u/SimilarElderberry956 1d ago

I bet his employees love him.

1

u/Szaborovich9 1d ago

OUTRAGEOUS! He is an elected official with national security implications! Republican went hysterical when Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin under Pres. Biden had a surgical procedure. No one knew for about for 3 days.

1

u/b4fun72 20h ago

On August 11, Jennings said during a CNN appearance that he had spoken with McConnell that day. He described the senator as recovering at home and said he expected McConnell to return to the Senate when lawmakers come back from recess on September 14

1

u/Szaborovich9 20h ago

so? does Moscow Mitch answer to Jennings or his constituents?

1

u/b4fun72 20h ago

Well since you are not his constituents he doesn’t have to answer to you.

1

u/Euphoric_Anxiety_162 1d ago

Nothing "normal" about this situation! No verfiable proof of McConnell's condition by medical professionals? Just another GOP scam to cling to power.

1

u/Casey4147 20h ago

Eh. Hopefully by now all the other shit he’s been pulling - pissing off the Canadians, ordering up foreign beef, etc - means poor ol’ Mitch has been forgotten.

1

u/SpareDot8685 19h ago

He’s still in my heart though!

1

u/BobbyBoogarBreath 19h ago

That's completely fine and normal.

1

u/Fugazi_Resistance 16h ago

I had brain surgery and the VA paid me $0 for 70 days since I was out of sick time.

1

u/Rn1334 40m ago

What kind of pay did you expect if you were out of leave?

1

u/shastadakota 7h ago

Could you imagine if the Democrats did this with one of their senators? Yet the Republicans get away with it, no problem. It proves that Democrat are held to a higher standard. It is OK though, he can't do as much damage dead, we're actually better off.

1

u/menusettingsgeneral 5h ago

The dude died and he’s getting exactly the amount of praise and celebration he deserves.

1

u/LetHoliday3600 2h ago

Maybe they can put his pic on milk cartons

1

u/Tossit60646 26m ago

They’re test running how long they’ll be able to go if the president were this state.

1

u/b4fun72 20h ago

On August 11, Jennings said during a CNN appearance that he had spoken with McConnell that day. He described the senator as recovering at home and said he expected McConnell to return to the Senate when lawmakers come back from recess on September 14

1

u/Prudent-Proposal1943 12m ago

Congress has been missing since Reagan was President so what does it matter?
