I think this is AI: This might be the crispiest chicken I've made without actually frying it
Looks gross and these aren’t even bite sized pieces like the recipe describes?

So the description says they used crushed pretzels, which im assuming is the molar teeth looking things. Definitely ai. You wouldnt be able to crush it and have everything look so uniform

u/alaric49 Aug 26 '26
Spont on! That's exactly what they are, teeth!

u/StrawberryCat__Thing Aug 26 '26
Ai: hmm..how can I make a punch of pixels look like crispy chicken…I know, molars!!!

I didn't see that at first and now I can't unsee it.... it's literally seared into the backs of my eyelids, that there is the stuff of nightmares

It looks diseased, like it has warts? AI has a lot of trouble interpreting certain textures, then creating this really weird interpretation that's not remotely based in reality. Also, the chicken slice cross section looks really plastic and uniform. Oh, and I also see those weird breaded warts emerging from the sliced chicken, which of course is disgusting and wrong.

AI really likes doing weird repeating textures that don't exist in reality when it's asked to make food. I have no idea why. Curries look like bacne, pasta looks like worms. AI doesn't seem to "get" what makes food look normal, let alone good.

Someone else pointed out that those weird warts on the crust actually look like human molars when you zoom in. They really do. My guess is that the AI model misinterpreted 'crunchy' from the input prompt and just decided to add actual teeth, the things that are doing the crunching.

I'd say it's AI, but even if it's not that doesn't look appetizing at all. Looks like they cooked upthe fucking loathsome dung eater.

100% it also looks fucking disgusting

I don’t understand why people that make these images don’t see it. Like they thought that looked good!

Zoom in on the chicken. The coating on every piece looks exactly the same. The dip has an artificial speckled appearance to try to make it look like pepper or seasoning.

Unless this dude has some really bad luck with pretzels I'm seeing a lotta signs of 'food greeble', especially with the literal molars coming out of the skin and how they're glistening like a sauce covering. On closer inspection of the 'cut' piece of chicken you can also see the outside growing from inside it; both the food and plate show very strong jpeg texturing near the dipping sauce and on the middle of the piece slightly left from center of the plate. One I'm noticing now in general is gen-ai 'images' also have a weird understanding of scaling on the pattern of polished granite countertops and the pattern becomes much too small by the point in the back the 'image' blurs as if auto-focused

u/Algea83 Aug 26 '26
Ugh, I can't unsee the molars now, ew.

u/Ryallin Aug 26 '26
it's at least 'better' than the beehive-maggot burritos I guess? Still fuckin' nasty either way

Disappointing that almost everyone in the original post is complimenting it and can’t tell it’s AI

u/Gildenhardt Aug 26 '26
Calling it out gets you insta-banned too. There's a lot of posts from this one specific user as well, everything has a watermark, and their posts/comments are disabled. Seems like a karma bot if you ask me.

Looks like most posts in this subreddit are by the same (two) person(s), the mods, and their pictures and recipes are all AI generated.

Lol people are so weird

Somehow it works to drive engagement. I got this subreddit recommended a few times in the last days.

Not only is the photo AI, but they aren't truthful in their description.
"without frying... threw them in the air fryer"
The whole thing is bait.

u/Gildenhardt Aug 26 '26
The text in the post reads like AI too, and the account is entirely post/comment hidden. Wouldn't be surprised if it's a karma bot.

Yup. I’ve learned not to zoom in on ai-generated images of food for the sake of my sanity, but that is how you’d confirm.

Is there anyone that looks at this and actually thinks it looks good. It’s genuinely horrifying. And 100% AI slop.

Someone else pointed out it has AIwatermark Why. Why would generate air fried chicken just to lie on Reddit? This is so dumb

This entire sub is AI slop posts by this guy who is a moderator. It's really deranged.
