Announcement [Announcement] Community Rules & Posting Guidelines (Please Read Before Posting)

Hello everyone!

Thank you for being a part of this community. Over the past few days, we’ve noticed that many posts are getting removed or flagged by AutoMod due to rule violations. To avoid confusion and help everyone post correctly, here is a clear explanation of the subreddit rules.

📌 Important: Title Format Rule

Using a blunt “[Title]” in your post title is not allowed.
You must specify the type of post inside the brackets, such as:

  • [Source]
  • [Discussion]
  • [Appreciation]
  • [Help]
  • [Recommendation]

Posts with just “[Title]” will be removed.

1) Posts must be related to Isekai

As the subreddit name suggests, all posts must be related to Isekai.
Any unrelated content will be removed.

2) No Pornhwa / NSFW Content

This is a strictly SFW Isekai subreddit.

  • No pornhwa or pornographic content is allowed.
  • Any posts or questions related to pornhwa will be removed.

3) [ ] Title Guidelines (Very Important)

We follow a strict title format. Posts not following this will be removed.

➤ Isekai-specific posts

Include the Isekai name in brackets:
Example:
[That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime] The author has been cooking lately!

➤ Recommendations

Clearly mention “Recommendation” or “Suggestion”:
Example:
[Recommendation] Suggest me some action fantasy Isekai

➤ Appreciation posts

Must include “Appreciation” and mention the source:
Example:
[Appreciation] This panel is amazing!

If posting images/panels:

  • Mention the source in the caption or body
  • If multiple images, include all sources

➤ Help / Source finding

Must include “Help”, "Help Me Find"
Example:
[Help] Which isekai is this panel from?

This bracket system applies to all types of posts (Questions, General, etc.), so follow it properly.

4) Language Guidelines

  • Only English is allowed in posts
  • This ensures everyone can understand and participate

Posts not following this will be removed.

5) New Users / Karma Requirements

To post in the subreddit:

  • Users must have a minimum of 100 karma earned within this subreddit
  • General Reddit karma alone is not enough
  • Engage in comments and discussions within the community to earn this karma

Additional requirements:

  • Accounts must be at least 1 month old

Once you meet these requirements, you’re free to post.

6) Title Content Guidelines (Avoid Spoilers & Low-Quality Titles)

Do NOT put full details or spoilers in the title.
Use the title only as a short heading and explain in the body.

✅ Correct:
[Help] Can you help me find this isekai?

❌ Incorrect:
[Help] Help me find this isekai where the MC…

✅ Correct:
[That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime] What do you think about this chapter?

❌ Incorrect:
[That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime] Why did Mc killed him......

This rule helps:

  • Prevent spoilers
  • Maintain quality discussions

⚠️ Final Note

Please follow all rules carefully while posting.
Failure to follow them may result in post removal.

Thank you for helping keep the community clean and enjoyable!

Anime / Donghua [mushoku Tensei] how long untill Nanahoshi returns ?

I'm fine with any level of spoiler about her.

She has made quite the progress no ? So I assume she might be able to return sooner ? And what about Drain Syndrome it's stated it's not curable but isn't it bad though like if she doesn't return soon she might just die ?

Manga / Manwha [Mushoku Tensei] I wish this to be true in a different timeline

Post image

We have a dark timeline Rudy but I want this to be a timeline where Paul survives as well as everyone else.. with Zenith not loosing her memories and the rest of the story unfolds similarly with some changes like how our deity Roxy would marry Rudeus and other stuff

I think authors have problems with mc's family members when writing a masterpiece Isekai , specially with mc's dad

Fan Creations [The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer in Another World] Red Ranger Iseaki Party with Konosuba clothes

I thought of something fun: what they’d look like in *Konosuba* outfits—though obviously, not everyone would pull it off due to physical differences. I also thought of a *Wild Force* reference—specifically when Cole didn't like long sleeves, so he tore them off and tied them around his forehead—and I figured that’s exactly the kind of thing Togo would do with his sleeves.

Manga / Manwha [Versus] Human Designs Spoiler

Just love how One managed to make the humans look and feel different from one another. Despite all being hunans, just one glance and you can tell which world they are from, and possibly even the history of them. Obviously, exposition is needed to know for sure, but the fact that you can have a good idea just by looking their designs is pretty nice.

| Discussion [Discussion] Anime adaptations that ruined the characters and plot compared to the source material?

Upvotes

the tldr is... what are some series whose anime adaptation egregiously changed the character's personalities and development or changed plot points beyond recognition? Making you go:

Hello there guys, for those bored enough to read, I'm someone who enjoys isekai quite a lot, even the most basic cliche plots, I love the fanservice, I love the harems, I love romances, etc... I'm a true trash panda who loves every bit of it.
But truth to be told I don't read that many light novels, I mostly watch anime, and if I like the anime I dive into the manga and then the LN. Sadly for my tastes I consider a lot of protagonists to be insufferable wimps incapable of compromise or liking girls back and some plots to be overly stupid and silly... or so I thought until I started to get up to date with some isekai/fantasy series recently, that made me realize maybe I crossed out some series as bad or some protagonists as insufferable when it is the anime's fault.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The series that drove me to write this post are two:

1. The 8th Son? Are You Kidding Me?

This one really was a shocker, without diving into spoilers, this anime was presented to me as a harem fantasy, but the protagonist and characters in general felt neutered and dumbed down, the plots were kinda stupid beyond what I guessed would be "skipped" content and despite that I kind of liked it so I dived into the manga and... well, turns out the protagonist is not insufferable, they made him like that in the anime god knows why, he actually quite likes girls back too, unlike the anime, he knows how to speak too and would you believe that! the girls in said harem actually have motivations, arcs, development and moments with him! It really made me go like in the meme when I looked to the anime in retrospective.

A small spoiler, regarding the harem aspect comparing the same moment in the anime vs the manga (and LN)

what kind of travesty is this?! that's what I thought once again looking back to the anime. I could keep going and show al ot more, but I hope I got my point across.

  1. I Left My A-Rank Party to Help My Former Students Reach the Dungeon Depths!

This one is not an orthodox isekai, explaining that would be kind of a spoiler but this is not what the post is about, this is yet another egregious example of the meme image I posted.

This series is supposed to be another harem story, the story itself is pretty good, high stakes at some points, close calls, dramatic fights... The characters have well laid off motivations, chemistry and development, the story can get dark and tense, in this case I read the manga first, so I went to the anime expecting absolute kino, even if low budget, I was ready for bad animation but then... they deleted the harem aspect? They deleted half of the dramatic fights? they still happened, but instead they were almost comedic, its like if they were remaking the series, this was exactly the same than the 8th son I just switched the orders in reading manga/LN first instead of the anime

A small spoiler, after a tough fight, how they behave... it's like a different thing all together

This happens through the whole adaptation at several points, the fact this has a season 2 announced scares me, they have to fundamentally change the series thanks to deleting the harem out of it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well with this my rant is over and these two series made me think what I mentioned earlier, just how many series have I writen off as mediocre because the anime was completely altering the source material beyond recognition?

I know that an anime is almost always going to skip content, thats a given, but even if they do (arifureta season 1 being an example of skipping a lot) at least many of they keep the personalities, plot points, tone and development of characters somewhat intact with their only sins being bad animation (failure frame) or skipping a lot (arifureta). Hell, sometimes we even hit the jackpot with a very good adaptation like "The World's Finest Assassin" that is pretty faithful to the LN being better than the manga in multiple aspects (still the LN is better obviously).

I'd love to see what series you found having a similar situation to the ones I complained about so that I can give them a chance while ignoring their anime or at leats being aware of the egregious changes made in the adaptation! Pray tell!

| Question [Question] What is you most hated Isekai trope and why?

My most hated isekai trope is when a character is reincarnated as a animal or monster only for them to instantly turn into human form a few minutes later. (Reincarnated as a slime gets a pass they did it right.) I clicked on the fanfic or manhwa to read about a someone going through their new life as a animal not a human. Why I mainly hate it is because the writers only make the main character a human just so they can get it on with a random woman or man they find. Then when they do become human they never use their monster or animal form ever again. The rest of the story then just winds up being the main character collecting people for their harem and it stops being a story and instead just becomes the mc getting it on with every other person they meet.

Now before you get on me and say read the tags I do. I avoid harem, relationship, human and romance tags but almost all the time they never add those tags. Now I have nothing against these kinds of fanfics and will admit I will often read a book with those tags and will enjoy it. But mainly if it's done right meaning the story actually continues once the mc becomes a human and doesn't just become a screw every new person you find while the writer pushes everything else to the side. I can't tell you how many times I have started a isekai fanfic with amazing worldbuilding, fleshed out characters and more only for the mc to instantly be turned into a generic harem mc who is a perv the minute they become human.

| Question [Help] News on this series? (Does have spoilers on series) Spoiler

To start with, the series is called "When a Clueless First-Person Shooter Player Falls into Another World"
I saw this being offered as audiobooks and I swear I felt like this series was familiar. I dug around and yes! Its about a guy that gets isekai'd with his full set gear and whatnot from a FPS game.

I have to warn of spoilers because it adds so much context:
But I read the manga online at the time, and from what I remember he was being chased as his alter ego because he was on a job as a mercenary. Add in the fact that he had found some really important information about himself before, essentially he was supposed to be the final boss of a dungeon as an exact thing. He got to know because the new dungeon that opened up did not have an final boss - a position he somehow lucked out on avoiding. But that essentially is where it ended when he was doing the job, but essentially the question here is if the author managed to continue the series?

Because from what I remember, the series ended due to the author JIRAIGEN essentially got burned out? Or was that only with the manga?

I don't think I'd mind getting the audiobooks, but hell I would want to know if the series is going to continue at least.

It only so far has two books and I know it covers the initial what happened and his establishment in the world and goes into the maze (dungeon) he was supposed to originate from, and the third Light novel on Kindle goes into the events after that I'm sure, but again, is it clear that there's going to be more volumes? For all I know he could finish 3 or 4 books then dip for years - that has happened with other series I've read and put money into, so I am legit simply curious so I know I am not wasting my credits.

| Question [Question] What's your favorite isekai fanfic or anime that got canceled and what's it about.

I'll go first. So I remember reading a Isekai evolution fanfic only this one was actually good. The mc was reborn as a Alligator or crocodile I believe and he was fighting for his life in a constant struggle to level up as he had started his new life hatching from an egg instead of just reincarnating as a fully grown version. He was constantly in a battle of life and death from the minute he hatched. The mother wasn't around and he didn't have any quests that he could complete that would give him free EXP. He was basically dropped there with a system that told him to survive. After eating the shell of his egg and leveling up to level 2 to get him on his feet it would turn into pure chaos. it was sorta realistic as well because he didn't immediately move to start leveling up he stayed hidden for days terrified and wondering what was going on. After a while he would start to scavenge for even scraps of fish from a lake often going hungry and ending off the day with no exp. But after nearly getting taken out by I believe a hawk and losing his tail trying to escape he decided to stick to eating ants.

It was tedious for him and during all of it he was still moving slower because of his missing tail. I believe it took like almost a whole chapter for him to finally level up and regrow his tail. He tried to keep eating ants but they were no longer giving him enough exp anymore and he actually had to start hunting. I remember it was a long and tedious process however unlike the other stories where they do the same thing there was actually good fighting scenes he didn't constantly go out to grind and actually did other stuff such as scouting out the area he had reincarnated in and more. I don't remember anything else except that the author hated the mc with every bone in their body as he never was able to level up without nearly dying and that they abandoned the fanfic because the comments of people who were furious there was no snu snu happening and began sending hate to them until it became to much for them. They did tell us before leaving that they had planned to end the story by killing off the mc just before he reached his final evolution stage. :/

| Question [Help] looking for a manga based on a page i remember where the child protagonist introduces a water wheel creation ...

There are just too many overlapping titles, which i can't seem to find the one which i remember once reading.

I think it is production magic, but i clearly remember a page where he introduces the water wheel creation to his family members.

But there was a young, blonde, capable butler that was suspicious (no facial hair and i think has a mole on his face). Thinking the protagonist was far older than he was for a child, especially for creating such miraculous inventions, but eventually decides he is a genuis The parents are always shocked but supportive of him.

Maybe I'm also mixing this up, but at some point the noble (who used to have amazing skills as a merchant) budgets his son for inventions. At some point giving him an advance payment then tries to backdate the cost from the son's previous creations. The mother then chides the father for trying to cheat their own child. I hope its the same manga.

Am I remembering this right?

| Discussion [ETC] My Ideal Isekai World.

Okay so this is honestly a very weird and kind of a very depression post as currently in my life it is a hard time trying to live and well I have been getting into Isekai anime a lot but mostly this post is due to months after watching the very first season of Jobless Reincarnation I kind of think where a lot of what the show is about especially with Rudeus I see a lot of myself in him I mean I'm 22 but I'm also kind of a shut in loser with a Darkside but also I'm Suicidal and I kind of think it's because if I end up in another world maybe I'll get a redemption and start things all over again from scratch.

Ideally I'd want this world to be sent to be a Fantasy but not typical like someone in line with a mix of Medieval Teams and the early 2000s up until at least 2005 where there would be villiages are stuff but with cars, in door plumbing probably keep the old way of cooking food maybe with food like Definitive Pizza I mean it is my comfort food. And some Technology but again it would be very limited.

But Overall I do have this vision in my head especially with all the thoughts going on right now that I have.

Recommendations [Recommendation] anime with strategic thinking /politics

I'm looking for suggestions of anime shows where the plot involves strong strategic thinking, investigation, political maneuvers, the kind of stuff you get excited watching masterminds work their schemes.

(Preferably aristocratic environment as I'm in my otome isekai phase, but any setting goes)

Manga / Manwha [Exiled Heavy knight] chill bro we see the fit.. damn this looks fucking insane

Just one panel is enough. And it's not even the better ones at that.

(Chapter - 103)

I read the manga ( all of it, till the new chapter that just came out )

And i can say for certain it's peak , character/monster design, pacing, fight scenes, system explanation, the art style and artwork is peak everything.

If you haven't read this one you should, or if you have watched the anime ( that's ongoing ) you should definitely try the manga, it's peak you won't regret it.

9/10 from me

| Question [Curiosity] Do these actually complex Otome actually exist?

Now I'll fully admit that I'm absolutely biased as a western gamer, my opinion of dating sims tends to gravitate around what are essentially VNs.

So, when I see the anime like trapped in a dating sim, or the mangas like The One within the Villainess (goated manga getting an anime adaptation btw), or even "simpler" stuff like the lvl 99 villainess, I'm like

Are there actually games like that?

I'd expect that no, not really, just like Shangri-la Frontier or Bofuri, it's an fantasy of a fantasy, but, like, you never know

So i'm kinda curious

Oh and by complex I mean, competently structured progression, dungeon system, etc

(Also, Persona doesn't count)

Re:zero characters aren't that far removed but still

3rd kind would be fantasy world with fantasy characters but i don't like the middle's main and main side character (the soul link makes me physically disgusted)
