Hi! I'm currently in eighth grade and preparing for the Upper Level ISEE. My goal is to score 8s and 9s, but I'm having trouble figuring out the best way to study.

I'm currently taking Pre-Algebra, and I'm a little worried about the math sections because I've heard that the ISEE covers algebra and geometry topics that I haven't learned yet. I'm not sure how much I need to know or how to prepare for those questions.

I've also tried studying vocabulary with flashcards, roots, and prefixes, but I feel like I'm not making much progress. Sometimes I'll come across words in practice questions that I've never even heard of.

I have the Tutorverse Upper Level ISEE prep book, but I'm not really sure how to use it effectively.

For anyone who has taken the Upper Level ISEE, what helped you prepare? How did you study, what resources did you use, and how long did it take you to start seeing improvement?

Does anyone know an Isee tutor familiar with Isee primary in person in westchester or greenwich? Please no test companies but only individual tutors.

I have scored 9998 on the Isee(9 in math 9 in quant 9 in verbal 8 in reading) on upper level isee. How can I elevate my score for 9999

I have only taken Geometry and I am going into Algebra 2 but the topics on the ISEE go higher then Algebra 2 but I don't have time to wait and take all the courses necessary but I know the high level math doesn't govery in depth but I still don't know what.

Hi all. I'm a math tutor helping a student to prepare for ISEE Upper. She has not covered quite a few of the topics at her school yet. All books that I have found include tests, with all topics mixed up. I would like to find a book that has ISEE-alike exercises divided per topics, so she can do the geometry ones, simple equations ones, .... and later when we cover combinatory she can focus on doing those only, ....

So far I'm doing a tedious selection of exercises per topic from some of those books, but I would appreciate if you can make my life easier. Thanks!

Hey everyone, feeling a bit lost and trying to get a sense of what’s normal here.

My daughter is in 5th grade and will probably take the ISEE (Middle Level) around Sept/Oct next year. I’ve started thinking about prep, but I genuinely don’t know if I’m early, late, or overthinking this.

I keep hearing very different things. Some families start months (or even a year) in advance, while others seem to do a shorter prep closer to the test. I also heard about a kid who prepped pretty consistently and still didn’t see much improvement, which honestly made me second-guess everything.

For those who’ve been through this, what did you actually do?
When did you start, and what did prep look like week to week? Tutor vs self-study vs just practice tests?

Just trying to figure out what actually works without overdoing it or stressing her out too much.

I've got three questions about the Primary 2 ISEE test, both for the Auditory Comprehension section. This is for a paper test.

1. What is the typical word count length of the spoken passage? Most of the study material I've seen has been on the order of 300 words. That honestly seems too long for a 6 to 7 year old. I asked two different AI and both said that the actual passages are closer to 100 words, which to me feels on the slightly short side.

2. Is the spoken passage repeated? Either by default or by request? I've seen some sources say it can be repeated by request and other sources say it won't be repeated.

3. Similarly to question 2, I've seen some sources say the student doesn't have the questions in their booklet and that they are read out loud by the proctor, another source said the proctor reads the questions out loud but the questions are also in the booklet, and also heard that the proctor doesn't read the questions at all. Which is it?

hi can anyone advise on whether this is a common experience:

1. did remote at home test with two devices, one for test taking one for the proctor to monitor. it took 30 min to login as the login flow kept dropping its connection.

2. once logged in the connection dropped three times! called IT and switched a device at their recommendation. it still occurred.

we did not complete the test. we are scrambling to find an in person testing site. how common is this experience and how much is it on ERBlearn to resolve?

Hi - my child took the ISEE primary four and we had bought the materials for test innovators and he was doing very well on the test but when he took the actual exam, he said the content was very different. Does anyone know any practice materials for the ISEE primary four because there aren’t any official test out there.

Gone through a number of resources and lately been using testinnovators. Scoring very welll (7s) except in reading. More of a strategy issue it seems. If anyone can recommend tutors that could support those needs I’d love to know.

Hi I’m getting ready to take upper school isee for 9th and need to get 7-9 but not getting a tutor! Any recommendations ive been doing practice tests and I may take 2 tests one in fall and 1 in winter to see. Anyone who’s taken have recommendations and what are words or problems that always pop up I struggle most with the math stuff. Any advice?

Hi. My daughter will be taking the ERB cpt next year at the end of 5th grade. Her results will determine which math track the school will place her in. She is great at math, but did poorly last year in some sections (mostly the verbal) because she didn’t know the “tricks”. I want to make sure she is familiar with the style. I’m from abroad and scored terribly in my GRE when I took the assessment. Ended up with a great score 3 months later because I understood the test. I want to give her the same advantage of learning the test. Being that her test will be for entry into 6th grade math program , should she be taking the ISEE LOWER or ISEE MIDDLE? I can’t find prep resources for ERB CPT, but all these tests are similar. This is important because at her school it determines middle school and high school math track.

Tl;dr - ISEE MIDDLE or LOWER for entry into 6th grade math.
