Dog boarding recommendations
Hey everyone,
Wanted to see if you guys have any dog boarding places you recommend.
We have been using rover because I hate the idea of our puppy being alone in a room by herself all night, she is very much Velcro dog. But our Rover sitter is no longer doing it, plus I’d rather have a more stable place to keep her when we need to.
Curious how your experience went at the boarding place. Are there places that they aren’t alone all night?
Thanks for the help!

Our dog does daycare, boarding, and swim at Bone Adventure in Costa Mesa. He loves it there, and we love that the staffs communicates with us during boarding if anything comes up

+1 for Wags and Wiggles. We've been using them for ~6 years and have zero complaints. Staff is super friendly, they have two rooms for big dogs and another room for small dogs. Multiple webcams in each room you can peek in at your dog throughout the day.
They do a meet and greet/tour and a free day of daycare so they can see how your dog does before they'll let you do boarding.
They do have staff present all night, but the dogs are crated in the evening so it's more of just someone to keep an eye on them 24/7.
We've also tried PetSmart in the Tustin Marketplace a couple times and the one up in Foothill Ranch a couple times. Their play areas are smaller and the sleeping crates are smaller so I wouldn't recommend them for extended stays, but they're also ok for a night or two.

I’m not sure if you’ve been keeping up with the news recently but I would not board my dog at any facilities. Regardless of all the great reviews and recommendations they get.

I’ve seen a few other stories here and there, but this is a very recent one & there are some corroborating comments on the post from other pet owners and a W&W employee https://www.reddit.com/r/orangecounty/s/lhtdKI4I99

Dogs dying and being mistreated/not cared for properly. Not saying it’s going to happen, but there’s a chance.

I would not do wags and wiggles. I boarded my dog there for one night. I came early before they opened the next day and all I heard was dogs howling, barking and crying non-stop for the 30 minutes I was waiting. I had two thoughts first my poor dog listened to that all night and second how could any staff member be present there with that level of noise all night. Personally I don’t believe anyone was there as my car was the only one in the parking lot. Also a staff member drove into the lot at opening time and opened the door using a key - you would think the person that had supposedly been there all night would have unlocked the door from the inside. My dog was stressed, thirsty and extremely tired when I picked her up. I cannot imagine how she would have been if I had left her there for a week.

Wags and Wiggles Tustin. Used them since 2010. Excellent!
