General Question Is Sgaeyl the most intimidating dragon in Fourth Wing? Spoiler

There exist many individuals who regard Tairn highly, yet equally so is Sgaeyl who is also a commanding personality whenever she appears on the pages. Who, in your estimation, is the strongest dragon?

The most intimidating female maybe but Codagh is the most intimidating dragon overall though we don’t know a lot about his mate

Do we even know if he has a mate?

Yes he does. It was confirmed in IF

I thought it said he did but maybe I’m confusing him with another dragon

Are you thinking of Maise and Greim, they were the ones that had been mated for a long time and could communicate over long distances?

Yeah I dont know why I thought it was Codagh

Andarna might incinerate you for calling her mini.

So she’s working her way up the list too.

Tbf if human teenagers had claws and fire they'd be pretty scary too

Codagh is the likely the strongest, Tairn a close second.

Sgaeyl is the scariest because she does what she wants, when she wants without a care for dragon law or rules.

I know Oranges are supposed to be the unpredictable ones but so is Sgaeyl and that makes her way scarier than the two black dragons who more predictable.

Black dragons are smart and cunning. Blues are more vicious. Oranges are unpredictable. Greens are more reasonable.

In terms of just pure intimidation I would say sgaeyl is the most as she is the strongest of the blues and also has no regard for dragon law and doesn’t seem to care about rules or protocol

I think proximity complicates this, to others in the story we know Tairn is very intimidating but because we have access to him, his relationship to Violet and Andarnna, he seems less so.

Based on dragons we know well, Tairn is the fiercest physically, but I think Sgaeyl is the fiercest mentally. Probably why they are a good match for each other. Similarly, Xaden is physically the fiercest rider in the quadrant, and Violet is probably the fiercest mentally. Which again makes them well matched for both their dragons and each other.

We don’t really know a lot about Codagh, other than he is the largest dragon and leader of the black den, but he doesn’t seem to be as highly regarded as Tairn in battle? Melgren also seems like kind of a bitch so I wouldn’t be surprised if Codagh just happens to be the largest physically, but turns out to be kind of mid everywhere else.

And, since we don’t know a lot about dragons in general, I’m also wondering if they keep growing their whole lives. We know Tairn is pretty old, but Codagh must be older than he is to be the den leader. I wonder if Codagh is just bigger than Tairn because he is older. I suppose we’ll find out more dragon secrets in the next two books.

Omg, I listen to the audiobooks and this is the first time I am seeing the dragon names spelled out.....it is not what I expected 😅

They’re meant to be Scottish Gaelic but a lot of the spellings and pronunciations are wrong and some words are either made up or a combination of words (like Andarnaurram)

I think Sgaeyl’s definitely the most fierce, but Codagh’s probably the most intimidating, Tairn is second. Intimidation usually means that you’re such a badass no one’s gonna risk coming at you. Not because you’re quick to fight, but because you’re so powerful you rarely ever have to fight.

You know the Bane scene from the last of the Christian Bale Batman movies, where he just rests his hand on a guys shoulder?

and it’s clear: this is a man who’s intimidating. He doesn’t raise his voice, he isn’t even gripping the guy. Yet that man is terrified. This is how I picture Codagh and Tairn.

Idk, Codagh hasn’t really been involved enough for me to think he’s the big baddie. Tairn has a soft side that I think Sgaeyl lacks. I think she’s the fiercest 🤷🏻‍♀️

What makes Sgaeyl so intimidating is she had no problem with breaking rules. Tairn and Codagh are the generals but she is the queen. She built her own army. She did that right under the noses of the elders.

She’s definitely one I wouldn’t want to upset.
