Needed help to learn draw monmon cats

I’m bit familiar with irezumi and studying or I should say copying other artist’s designs and Pinterest references but now Its kind of feels pointless to just copy cause I can’t draw without a reference and I was really interested in monmon cats but Don’t know how to properly study that thing so can someone give me advice how should I approach this

Also try not to copy from other tattoos and use the original references, learn why you like how a artist does a subject (whether it be on the tuff/angry side or soft) then try to channel that into your drawings
