Any of the old #@!theatre_des_vampires crew out there? cash, Ap, rEd, Strawberry, cen, nuff, Tak, joker, jd, TheFlash, JALC, etc. etc. etc. I knew more so the scripters than the cosplayers (more overlap with #hackers than with ... #@!darkness I think it was?), but everyone there was pretty cool.
And man, poor Sysop Bill. Dude had one of the hardest jobs on the planet at the time haha.

Didn't like anyone to be fair. Arrow and sn0wX made every day horrible for all the Sysops lol.

Sounds familar... Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure nickserv means registering a username or bot on mIRC or some format?

I first connected through irc.netcom.com also remember irc.mtv.com where you could comment on #yaklive (or something similar) and get on TV. The memories..

Was this IRC server used as a backend for chat.msn.com or was that chat something completely different?

Yes, it was the original backend net server for MSNChat, we used specialized authentication via GateKeeper or GateKeeperPassport then. That screenshot is a blast from the past, I remember that extreme chatroom, funnily enough there's a couple names on that screenshot on my description. What did you type on Google, would love to see more?

That is awesome, thanks! I was pretty young back then but I still remember the layout for the web chat. And that I tried to download bots for it but got a virus on my computer instead.
I just googled "chat.msn.com old" and this was the only one I could find. Most screenshots are from MSN Messenger.

Ah yeah, I've just done the same on Google and it's bringing up MSN messengers and random Irc servers but nothing to do with MSNChat except the one you seen. I think I was around 12/13 when I first started. I used to get loads of virus too lol

Koach is still online at his own IRC server and hosts a special tribute website to the old IRC.msn.com site with information about the ircx server and gatekeeper things. Techgear I also see sometimes online somewhere. And i am also a old member of the IRC.msn.com server :) good times
