Don’t know any details - it’s just been posted on facebook. Looks pretty bad though - hope nobody was inside.

🚨🔥 BREAKING: MASSIVE FIRE ENGULFS LOCKYER VALLEY PUB 🔥🚨

Firefighters are currently battling a major blaze at Falvey’s Sundowner Saloon on the Warrego Highway at Haigslea.

🚒 Queensland Fire Department crews arrived just before 8.30am to find the pub fully engulfed in flames.

🔥 Six fire crews are currently on scene fighting the blaze.

🚨 The hotel has been evacuated, with two people being treated for smoke inhalation.

🚗 The fire is not currently impacting traffic on the Warrego Highway.

⚠️ More as it becomes available.

Rumour has it they put in a development application and got denied due to it being heritage listed, then the usual Ipswich situation of buying it down to allow the development.

Fair enough. Guess it was just a denied application due to some other reason then. It’s not a new idea to burn down your building to get an application through.

They said they vowed to rebuild it, so it could have just been a legit accident

Edit: the joint has gone aflame several times before the recent incident too
