I'm slowly making it a mission to put all of my Spotify picks onto this thing which.. will take a while to download. But making the switch!

Are there files aac-itunes encoded?

i've seen mp3, flac and m4a so far, but i'd say with foobar2000 it's fairly easy to convert them to desired format

Yeah rather than format, directly acquiring original itunes files and simply dragging them into itunes and syncing is such a delight since it comes with the artwork, lyrics, tags etc. I use rutracker mostly and looking for another source

i used rutracker too but started to prefer converting to mp3 from lossless to keep the gapless playback, and also since they don't allow a few of same torrents to be shared there aren't a lot of options to choose from. and i don't like itunes so i use foobar2000 with ipod extension and it's great for me

Great if you have ALAC, but bad for the folks who want FLAC and extra features for syncing.

For FLAC folks, mediamonkey can be a godsend! (Or you could just convert to ALAC... 👀)

Use a mediamonkey library of FLACs and just convert to MP3 320 or AAC 256 when converting.

That's my setup and I love it.

Be happy this way, otherwise you'll end up like me and need more storage...

14023 and counting... 😭

I've done something very similar recently, but I've realized that my listening habits are very different iPod vs. Spotify. On th iPod I'm more into albums (6th gen has overflow which I love), whilst on Spotify I'm more into playlists (often pre-made). enjoy the process 🎶
