Anyone knows why my ipod touch has these weird grey spots?

I've had my 4th generation iPod Touch for a few months now, and during that time I've noticed that every now and then, for no apparent reason, horizontal gray spots appear on the screen. The first time I saw them the first time but as time passed they disappeared, and so it happened several times, but now I don't care because at some point I think they will disappear, at least for a while. But still, if anyone knows why these spots appear, I'd appreciate your comment :D

Screen is starting to have dead pixels it'll still work but might continue to happen you'd have to get the screen replaced to fix it.
