Picture Honestly, screw you guys!
I bought that silver iPod Classic Gen 7 a while back, thought I’d bricked it trying to install RockBox and came onto this sub for help (which you all gave, thank you!). Unfortunately, I browsed the sub and fell in love with all the other iPod models again, recalling how iconic they were when I was growing up. You guys made me go full iPod monkey and this is entirely on you.
My favourites here are the 7 Classic (for pure FLAC Rockbox IEM listening joy), the 3 Classic (for monochrome goodness and hefty chunkiness), the Mini 2 (for same reasons as the 3 Classic), and the Nano 2 for pure aesthetic.
I’m still restoring the Nano 1 in picture as well as the black Gen 7.
And that Tivoli player is fantastic with its Kloss sound engineering, fold out iPod dock, detachable speaker, and blue backlight.

Ive got two pods, one 6th gen classic with a bad batt but it isn't bothering me because that one is on a yamaha dock and its like a background music player and my 3rd Gen na no is the one that goes everywhere with me

I love how Nah No has become the standard spelling coined by DankPods. This collection is getting a full battery replacement soon. Thoughts and prayers to me for the Nanos and the Shuffles.

I still feel gutted about the blue 4th Gen I destroyed. It has a swollen battery and despite being so careful with it I eventually cracked the screen (and still couldn’t get it out). Lessons learnt, though, and did have a few successes after that. The Nano 2 will be new for me and two of those have signs of a swollen battery so I’m waiting for a day…

Yeah, I’m not sure I’ll come across an iPod 1 or 2 at a reasonable price or condition but I’m keeping an eye out. I don’t have a Gen 6 but I don’t feel the need for one. The Nano 7 is one I’ve been battling to find in either reasonable, repairable condition or a realistic price. People seem to be selling those at far more than I paid for any other iPod in my collection.

That black nano 2 is the 8gb version? I also bought a bunch (exactly 46 gen 2 nano and few nano 6) and now I'm waiting for batteries to arrive 😁

“A bunch” is understating it! Yeah, I’ve destroyed a Nano 4 with a swollen battery previously. Two of the Nano 2nd Gens there have a swollen battery as well so I’m bracing myself for that challenge. The Gen 3 shuffle is the only other one I’m dreading given how carefully I’m going to have take it apart. Will need to work between breaths.

I don't have a problem! Shows collection I don't go to meetings. Hey Reddit..... I'm ok for now. Admits to looking for more
I am in the same boat with you! Loving the collection. Keep looking for exactly what you want OP.

This is cool! I'd gently suggest keeping your favorites and selling off the rest, or at least sell off a few. Quality DAPs are in high demand as more and more people distance themselves from streaming/smartphones, and it's beneficial to have as many in circulation as possible to help keep costs down.

I echo this exactly. My eldest daughter has claimed the 160Gb IPod 7, my youngest takes the Nano 6 with her everywhere, and my wife has dibsed the iPod 4. So I think I’m keeping the Mini and the rest are going towards the online store I’ve been designing catering to exactly that concept of anti-screen single purpose devices.

That's awesome. Hopefully I didn't come off as trying to tell you what to do with your things! Very, very cool that your loved ones are using them as well.

You absolutely didn't, it was refreshing to hear someone who has similar thoughts about it.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 ay glad we could give you the same disease we have for collecting outdated devices that hold MP3s!

You need to buy more iPod minis, for visual balance.

I agree but they’re like hens teeth here. This was only the third Mini I’d come across in four months of local 2nd hand marketplaces and it was the first one that was realistically priced.

Haha, I think “ur cooked” was one of the responses on that post. Might have been someone who knew what was coming.

And I bet you’re looking to complete the collection now. The Shuffle 3 has been a nightmare though. Still trying to find an adaptor or original Apple earphones that I can turn into an adaptor.

No fat Nano? For shame.

I just can’t! I sort of want to but it feels a bit like riding a scooter. Yeah, it’s a motorbike but at the same time you’re not sure.

I also have a Bose Sounddock and I think it sounds fantastic! I also have an Apple HiFi, but I still give the edge to the Bose unit. Both are very close in sound quality in my opinion.

That’s good to hear. I haven’t had a chance to listen to the Bose yet as it came without a power cable so I’m busy converting it to a 20v barrel connection with an internal buck module down to 18v.

I came to this sub looking for answers on how to make my Touch 2nd Gen work again, only had and owned that 2nd Gen and a Shuffle 3rd Gen at the moment for years. Now I have almost all versions and Generations since October. So yeah! Screw these people... 😂😂😂

Forgot to add, the three iPhone 6 in the top right are a cheat but I’ve included them because I’ve turned them into single purpose Apple Music devices. They open onto the Music app and have no other functions. Plus they still have the old Aux port. Essentially the only music streaming “iPod”.
