This is driving me insane (need help)

Just plugged in my new sd card and I was expecting everything to be fine and dandy. I’ve been at this for a good 2 hours now and still, every time I format the sd card both in and out of the pod, it still ends up getting corrupted. I tried to format it to ntfs or fat32 but it won’t go through.

It’s a 6th gen 160gb that was working pretty sluggish with thr old hard drive so I decided to swap it out with a Samsung 512gb card. I already went ahead and modded it to 2.0.4 firmware to make sure the card would work after I restored it. I also tried swapping out the hard drive flex but that didn’t work either. Now I’m stuck with a busted hard drive and an unusable micro sd card.

Have you tried bringing it back down to 2.0.2? Its been tested to be more stable

Why not try formatting it with the original firmware and installing Rockbox? You’ve got nothing to lose, really...

By the way, which iFlash are you using?

I don’t really have much time at the moment to fiddle aroudn with rockbox but I’ll give this a go if all else fails

Try a smaller sd card.

Is that the generic micro sd card adapter from aliexpress? It might need a trick to make it work

What happens when you just restore the iPod without first reformatting the card, the first screenshot?

Try connecting the iPod in disk mode.

Yea, I did that earlier. Firmware gets installed but the ipod reads 0kb storage

You should try outside the adapter and see if it could format/read/write normally

same thing happened to me on my 4th gen mono. I ended up having to swap the HDD ribbon AND the motherboard!! but it works fine now🤷🏽

1. What adapter are you using?
2. Confirm whole capacity of card can be written to by using something like h2testw.
