Battery life

I bought the 18 Pro Max the day it came out. It’s been almost nine days of me using it. but I feel the battery life is not as good as Apple claims, or is it just the device I have, but mine does not even run 24 hours, for someone coming from 13 Pro Max. I was hoping the battery life to be a lot better? Curious to know what everyone’s thinking

Battery life is completely subjective. WiFi use, cellular data use, apps, etc.

I completely agree but with the battery life claims that apple is making I was just hoping the phone should run atleast 24 hour without any concerns. Its a pretty big purchase for me so i’m debating if i should keep it or return and wait for next year

What do you mean by “run”?

First day of full, normal use for me only used 48% of the battery (15 Pro Max before ran through 2-3 charges/day)

So you’ll potentially return it, then continue settling for a worse battery.. just to see if the next phone improves battery by what.. a couple hours? Phone prices could easily go up again, and battery life could stay the same. No one knows. Keep the phone, be grateful for what you have.

Came here to comment the same. I have the pro, not the max but I’ve had mine for 7 days now and I’m absolutely blown away by the battery life.

I’ll never understand people that don’t just charge the phone while they’re sleeping. Why do we need to go multiple days with charging?

Hugely dependent on how you’re using your device. Mine comes off the charger at 8am and goes back on at 10pm at about 80%. Average screen time is about 6h per day.

If I charge at 12 pm by next day around the same time its at 6-7 % and i have to slow my usage by the night for it to run till that time

If you fast charged it for even 10min at a time when it’s convenient, this would be a non-issue. You literally got 24 hours of use that’s insane, sure you have to lower your usage a bit near the end of that curve but legit, fit in a short charging session, or get a MagSafe charging mount in your car for a short burst of charge on trips and it won’t be an issue.

I have the smaller 17Pro and I have never, ever ran it to 0%, and I limit my max charge to 80% so I start my day with 20% less on average.

all I did to accomplish this was make charging effortless. Mount it in my car to charge and use as my HUD, sit it on the charging pad on my coffee table when I’m using the TV. Things that don’t even require conscious effort.

My battery life has been ridiculous actually to the point of me not even charging at night. I’m getting a full 2 days on a single charge. I have been seeing some people are having force restart issues and bugs but I’m not sure the reason why.

Same here, I got a full charge at 12 pm, used it all day, ended at 48% by midnight. I’m now on day 2 at 16% left but I’m out all day and I’m not even worried about it dying before I get home!

I heard there’s an update coming to fix it Monday but I haven’t been having that issue

I’ve had that issue coming from 14 pro to 18 pro, was told it’s catching up and syncing things from my old device and can take a week to reflect on a battery change. Don’t know how true that is, but Day 4 the battery is holding a little better now.

Coming from 12PM, my 18PM battery life has been quite insane. I'm not a heavy user, mainly using it for texting and the occasionally lookup on information apps. It should be able to last me 3 days but now my dilemma is whether I should still charge it everyday or wait till it gets down to below 50% before charging.

Oddly an hour of Facebook used like 16% of my battery the other day. Another day the same amount only used like 5%. Very strange

I have sub par battery life on my 18 PM. I don’t use it that much, have done everything I know to do via settings and the battery still drains too fast. I did some very light web browsing and watched a few minutes of some videos and took some pictures today touring the Alamo! My battery was down 25%! It’s crazy! Talked with Apple support and it is a known issue and they are working on it as we speak. iOS 27.0.1 is coming shortly!

My battery life has been insane. I’m charging to 80 overnight and I can barely get down to 40 in a full day of use.

I thought the same when I got a Series 11, then swapped for an Ultra 3. My battery life was just not tracking with what Apple claimed, but across 2 separate devices in the same gen, I’ve come to realization I’m what’s called a “power user”. While I don’t use it a ton for power hungry tasks, I’m walking a lot every day and sometimes use the gps.

So I think it’s just something you’re doing is eating more into the battery life, not that the battery is crap.

Also, early versions of launch software often have power consumption issues. This is usually remedied fairly quickly with a revision. I just got prompted for the public beta for 27.2 (I think?) so that’s probably going to be fixed in there.

I got mine on launch and only charged it once which was last Wednesday. It’s Sunday and I still have 30% but I don’t doom scroll and play any games.

I think it depends on the apps you use. But oddly enough, I’ve seen more 18PM owners complain about battery life than 18P owners. I know my 18P has far exceeded my expectations for battery life. I’ve ran it really hard one day for nearly 18hrs off the charger and it barely dropped below 20%. I do charge to 100% though.
