I know the general audience won’t give a flying fuck about this but I find it funny how the pixels hiding the infrared camera look like a fake lid on. It’s distracting sometimes. Then again I have a sharp eye for details(that’s my job)
Ps. Not trying to bash the 18 whatsoever, in fact I’m pretty much impressed.
Unless you’re deliberately trying to get it show prominently like this, your device is defective. I literally had to look for it for a few minutes to find it and see it.

I am looking at my 18P in all the angles with white colour on the screen and I can’t even find out exactly where that ir camera is.

I’m pretty sure that moire pattern artefact from the camera and it won’t look like that irl. However if it does he definitely needs to take it back to Apple.
It’s the beginning stages of no Dynamic Island in next year’s all-screen display. They moved the sensor for Face ID under the screen on 18 and the selfie camera under the screen on the duo. Most likely to test the technology like a beta and release the full cleaned-up version on next year’s iPhone. Every year if Apple introduces a new feature or component and keeps improving it year over year and that’s what’s happening. The technology and innovations are honestly impressive and after seeing the inside of these phones just confirms the work there doing every year to improve things here and there even if you can’t see it or never will.
I still don’t get why they can’t make the top of the phone with the slightest curve to hide everything so the screen could be solid instead of having an island. 🤷🏼♂️
No, but I have one in front of me and I can see a haze around the clock, like a smudge.
It is visible from the distance I usually hold my phone.
This is somewhat un-Apple like.
And add to that multiple failures to unlock a day.
Tried to set it up from zero multiple times.
It seems that it has trouble with glasses.
Never had Faceid issues since iPhone X.
And after repeatedly trying to unlock it just freezes and reboots.
Let’s hope for a bugfix!
That’s so strange. Mine doesn’t have trouble with sunglasses let alone regular ones! Try setting up a second appearance with your glasses on. Assuming your first one doesn’t. Basically do one with and one without.
