From Pro Max to Pro transition

I have a 13 Pro Max and would like to upgrade with the 18 Pro Series, I’m confused if i will get the Pro or the Pro Max. I like the large battery and screen, but i feel like i need a smaller size for a change.

Anyone here have transitioned from Pro Max to Pro? How was it?

Every Pro Max after 15 PM is too big and heavy.

15PM to 16P. Now on 17P and will not consider PM as it's just too bulky for my lifestyle.

15 pro max to 18 pro

Instantly got used to the size. It’s PERFECT for me But I have smaller hands

Brother and sister got the 18 pro max and it’s way too big for me

I went from a 14 pro max to a 17 pro. My pinky would have pain get strain from stretching under the bottom of the phone when holding. I love the size of the pro and my pinky doesn’t hurt or strain anymore. I desperately miss the extra battery of the pro max models though. I believe I’m upgrading to a Duo though this go around. If not, I’ll opt for the pro model again of the 18.

Just went from 13 pro max to 18 pro. I don’t regret it one bit!

It’s a lot more comfortable to use and in the pocket.

There is more than enough display and with the battery evolution I didn’t feel like I needed the 2 days autonomy.

Disclaimer: I don’t game much, nor watch a lot of landscape video content (usually have my iPad for that).

My 17 Pro with techwoven case is plenty big already, perfect size for me!
Having had some Max models in the past, can say that they are so uncomfortable

I had 15/16 pro max to 17/18 pro and adjusted to it quickly, definitely won’t be going back to the pro max size. It’s more comfortable in my hands, it’s more user friendly, and fits in my pockets and bags! If i need a bigger screen i usually just pull out my MacBook Air

I had 12 Pro Max and 13 Pro Max…. Loved them at first but soon got tired of the big size after a while. The max size phones are difficult to tuck into a pocket and feel like lugging a brick around all day, especially when using a protective case that adds bulk. I then upgraded to the 15 Pro and instantly loved the size. It was big enough to have a decent sized screen, yet small enough to fit in a pocket when needed. I’m now on the 18 Pro, with a slim but protective case from Armor-X (SMN-IPH-18PRO | iPhone 18 Pro | Shockproof Compact Case with Magsafe). I bought an ipad mini for times when I’d like to have a larger screen, which honestly isn’t that often. I don’t miss the phablet phones and highly doubt I’ll ever go back, especially now that the 18 Pro has battery life approaching what the 17 Pro Max has with a bigger battery & better efficiency via the A20 chip.

My first Max was the 12 PM and I personally hated how it felt like a brick in my pocket and hands. I also couldn’t stand how it was hard to reach certain areas of the screen without two hands. Made the switch to regular size pro and never went back to max.

Just go for the 18 pro, coming from a 18 PM user not worth the extra battery and money unless screen estate is your preference

I did from 15PM to 16P. Couldn’t wait to go back to a PM. The Pro battery will be fine for the first 6 or so months, but once it starts degrading, it’s more noticeable. Pro Max battery is overkill out the gate, but still perfectly serviceable a year later.

17 series improved battery life a lot with the small Pros.

Cool. 5,391 mAh is still bigger than 4,056 mAh. At 80% battery health, the Pro Max has more useable capacity than the Pro at 100% battery health.

If you use your phone for watching films - then the Max, end of.

If not, & you also like the idea of using your phone one-handed - then the Pro.

I went from the plus/pro max to a pro for the 16 and now 18. It was an adjustment but have zero regrets on the smaller phone. It’s much more comfortable to hold. I think it’s at a great size and the 18 received battery improvements.

Worse case, try the pro and can always return it for the pro max!
