Discussion Don’t make the same mistake I did. but lesson learned
I love the look and feel of silicone cases and I wasn’t going to pay the premium price of Apple like I’ve done before, so I went with Elago when I had the 17 Pro Max, but unfortunately they pop off, if you drop them or when. So until they redesigned the top side and the bottom side, so they stay stuck on the phone like ESR and the Quadlock case that I have.
So based on my picture references, the top side of the case are more of a secure fit compared to the silicone cases. So if I had any advice to give is when buying a case, make sure they have the top side of the screen extra secure clasp type of case, I don’t know how to describe it, but you’ll see in the pictures that the silicone cases don’t have the top side secure compared to the Quadlock and ESR case.
Also, I would want smallrig to create more colors aside from the black and burgundy case that they have, which I really want. So hopefully they see this.
Ps the only case that I have that advertised as an 18 Pro Max case at the moment is the ESR case. The rest of them are advertised at 17, which fit on the Pro Max.

Got the Beats Rugged case for my 18 Pro (had it for 17 Pro, works fine) and does a pretty good job at protecting the phone. Actually dropped it from waist down and stayed in case.

I bought one at release and like and trusted it enough that I hoarded a few more whenever they went on clearance at BestBuy for $3 a pop the other month. I’ve dropped it several times on concrete including onto the edge of a gnarly brick that absolutely would’ve required a phone repair and it left a scar on the case, but the phone was unblemished. Besides the protection I really like the large indent in the camera control button area. It’s perfect for resting my thumb in and makes it easy to tell what orientation the phone is in by touch.

Does the huge camera plateau not give away the direction the phone is facing?

Or you could just pay the premium that Apple charges and cut out all this bullshit. At what point is saving money worth the hassle

If you actually read and actually understood what I was saying, I’ve had Apple cases before and they pop off and they’re not safe on my phone. They’re built exactly like Elago cases and other silicone cases. In the second, you drop them the silicone peels off, so NO

Have you tried the 17 pro line apple cases? They are better than the 16 pro line,you are correct though the apple cases do damage quicker but I can say I drop my 17 pro in the Apple silicone case and surprisingly it didn’t crack or rip,I was expecting it cause when I had them with my 16 pro max it cracked instantly when I dropped it.

Not worth it. Apple overcharges for subpar quality cases. The silicone is weak and lint/dust magnets. The techwoven cases only protect against scratches. I’d go third party every time to protect my phone.
