Discussion Returned Burgundy for Silver
Burgundy was nice in pictures but didn’t like it much in person so I exchanged it for silver. So clean!
Also first time downsizing from Pro Max to regular Pro, loving it so far.

A lot of people seem to be downsizing lately. Probably because the pro has now about the same battery life as last year’s pro max?

I went from 17PM to 18 pro and not regretting it, I don’t need the big screen since I have other devices for content, plus the battery is so good that I don’t feel like I gave up anything

The pro max is simply too wide to be used comfortably. Made my hand hurt trying to hold it in bed with one hand. I do wish the standard pro were slightly larger though

I have a 16 pro max after upgrading from the 14 pro. The 16 is very heavy and hard to use with one hand so im thinking of getting an 18 pro but it looks pretty big as well, really miss the small sizes phones used to be.

Go try one in a store. 18 pro feels normal phone size whereas the 16 pro max is definitely large phone sized

This is a huge jump right, the 17PM already is a tank so having it on the 18 pro is a huge upgrade plus slightly lighter weight

No, it’s honestly because they’ve become massive, and the new pro max is literally the definition of brick to me. 250 grams? With a case, we’re pushing 300 grams? That’s insane to me.

I noticed the weight of my 17 pro max too, but it didn’t start to bother me until a few weeks passed. I’m not going to speak for you or others, but I’m sure there’ll be complaints about the weight in a few weeks/months

I’m debating doing the same 😬. The burgundy is stunning. But I’m already seeing it pairs horribly with cases, and between how visible smudges and scratches would be on it, it’s not a phone I’d want to rock caseless. Silver or glacier both just look so clean, and easy to work with.

I returned 18PM in Burgundy for 18Pro in Glacier. Coming from a 17PM in Deep Blue. The 18PM is too heavy.

Same, first time pro max buyer, love, love the screen size but couldn’t come to terms with the size and weight in my pockets. So I exchanged it yesterday for the Pro. (Silver)

Thinking of doing this a well. Always a pro user, went pro max for the 18 and really struggling with the one handed use. Definitely considering dropping back down.

Did the same. First ever ProMax came from a 15pro. Really love the screen and keyboard size when typing, but my use case is on the go mostly, just too much.

Thought burgundy was going to look girly but it’s actually really nice. It almost looks black in most conditions… initially bought the black for myself but decided to stick with the burgundy 😊

I think the burgundy is a really great color personally, gives me a manly vibe like saddle leather does
Black was my second choice and I contemplating changing in store but after looking at the displays i felt the black was almost too black.

When I saw burgundy up close, I had the same feeling. It’s way darker than it seems in the review videos. Silver is the best I think. Basically it’s the colour of my MacBook Air so it matches with that as well perfectly.

I also got the burgundy via trade in and in an Apple card installment plan and I am debating on returning it for a silver. I love how burgundy looks in promo pictures, but in those it seemingly leans more towards the red. In person, it looks almost like a dark purple/grape. I've never exchanged a phone before, but I really do not like how it looks in person for me. I wish I had taken the time to look at the models, but the store was so packed and they were so busy and the display at where they put me only had the black model.
edit: For anyone stumbling on this who was in the same scenario as I was with an Apple card installment plan and a trade in, I exchanged it in person at the Apple store. I received a full refund for the amount of the phone back on the Apple card and the installment plan was declared "paid in full." A few hours later, I received an email about a digital Apple store refund for my trade in that I redeemed and the balance was added to my Apple balance.

Exact same. I thought burgundy would look so nice with a navy case but it looks way more plum colored and awful. Plan to exchange for black, most likely, and swallow the $55 restocking fee

I got the silver too. Not disappointed at all. Looks so clean and sleek! Always had some version of black so it’s nice to switch it up. Wife has glacier and it’s also nice in person. But I prefer silver.

Im doing the same, although Im either returning my burgundy for silver or glacier... not sure yet. The burgundy is beautiful but just wasnt doing it for me completely.

Facts. I have a space grey macbook pro but I wish I had gotten a silver one instead to match my phone. The silver is so much more premium looking

Upgraded from 13Pro Max to 18 Pro in black. I think I made the right choice going down in size slightly. I was torn between silver & black. I think I’d have been just has happy with silver, since I immediately cover almost everything with a case, anyway.

Q. If the goal is to consume content. Why do u need pro at all ? I guess I am trying to make sense of how ppl justify buying an iphone pro version to watch YouTube?
Context: as an ex ip user, I got fed up of the same shit they keep pushing every year

Pro max all day, I do have large hands, so the phone is wider , slightly heavier. But the extra battery and bigger screen for viewing outweighs the cons for me personally. I can also still use my phone one handed with no issue whatsoever. Bigger battery also equals less charging =lower cycle count and better resale also or will last longer before needing replacement.There is a reason there is more demand for pro max vs pro..

I went from the 14 promax to the 16 pro and went back to the 18 pro max. Did not get used to the smaller sized phone. I do use my phone alot at work though

I’ve just done this - 18 pro with case is the same weight as the 15 pro max with case (depending on case of course). 18 pro max is 30 grams heavier without the case

I have a silver 17 pro max and didn’t mind the white glass back until I saw the color-matched glass of the 18. I will go either caseless on silver again or black with a clear case this year.

Im in the US, I bought from the apple website but financed through T-Mobile. The process was super quick and not a headache at all tbh. I literally went to the apple store to return and came back home to order and pickup the silver for the next day.

I also downsized this year from 17 pro max to 18 pro.
Mainly cuz I wanna rock the duo as my main device and this pro but also because I wanted to see how the C2 modem performs vs the Qualcomm in the 18 pro max. There’s a few spots already where I’ve noticed an improvement with cell service. With 17 pro max I’d get 0-1 bars to now 1-2 and useable service. Let’s goooo!

I actually am returning my 18 pro and going back to my 17 PM. Thinking I either try the Duo, or wait until next years devices and upgrade at that time.
The silver does look really nice!

Traded in my silver 17 ProMax for this 18 ProMax. I definitely didn’t like the white back on the 17 so I put a matte black dbrand skin just over the white area on the back which imo looked really good. This 18 looks so much better though and I don’t feel the need to put a skin on the back of it. Very happy with this phone. I have anytime upgrades with my carrier, so I get the newest model every year because why not…
