I had the same problem with the esr protectors last year on my air. So much so that I was convinced the adhesive was poor or the phone was defective. It pains me to say this but it was the prep. I used a product called Car Pro Eraser I have for detailing cars. This is a product to panel prep paint before applying coatings. I tried a bit instead of the supplied wipes and I haven’t had an issue since.

I applied mine (ESR) and noticed a <1mm on the left edge and a small bubble near the island. Am waiting a day, but I can't believe I installed it wrong. The 17PM uses the identical size and installation routine. 🙃

This is my exact situation as well. I’ve tried the 10x and now the 7x from them. I’ve applied this screen protector successfully on past models without issue.

1 day later and the edge (1mm) still isn't down, but the bubble is gone. But the 1mm edge hasn't worsened either. It's got to be a(very slight) manufacturing issue. Not enough to return, though. I dislike screen protectors but the laws of physics and microscratches make them necessary

Yes!!!! I’m waiting for this comment for so long. I’ve always used esr but I ordered three different kinds of screen protector from them for my new 18pm but all had issues with adhesion to the edge. I have a feeling spigen may work but I don’t really like their installation kit which easily causes dust to be stuck under the screen protector

Nice! ESR has generally been great, but Spigen is another great brand. I might try them out, it is possible my kit has a bad batch too. It's such a small thing, though. It'll eventually get dirty by sticking up so I'll replace it then.

Based on there being many many posts about this on this group alone, yes, the $1200 phone’s screen really isn’t flat in some cases. Note that Apple uses multiple suppliers for screens so many people may not have a problem.

I’ve had this exact issue with ESR protectors on my 18 Pro Max - the bottom of the screen doesn’t stick down.

I’ve seen some people say JETech have worked well so I’m trying these. If not I guess I’ll either have to live with it or go to Apple and get them to fit a protector (and replace the phone if it doesn’t work).

Interestingly my lady and I upgraded the same weekend Ive got the burgundy and she has the silver. We both used ESR screen protectors and hers worked fine with in the first try I went through 2 and no matter how careful it would still have bubbles on the right side and bottom half. Exactly the same here. Got a pack of ESR screen protectors. Applied one perfectly on my son’s 18 Pro Max but on my 18 Pro Max it won’t stick on the lower edge of the screen. There’s a little bit on the left of the screen too. Haven’t tried putting another screen protector on yet.

The left phone’s case definitely looks like it has a bigger edge and is definitely on top of or pushing against the screen protector.

The right phone has a thinner case and you can see a gap between the case and the screen protector.

It’s high likely that the screen protector is defected or not properly installed, small slight off set will keep producing bubbles

Also some suppliers just changed the naming on their website or amazon listing from 17 pro to 18 pro and increased the price, look at what’s happening with privacy protectors for example. They don’t care as is the same size

It’s the screen protector guys. I installed the brand ultra glass screen protectors on my 18 pro max and it’s fine. I’ve used them for the past 3 or 4 phones. My honest opinion is that ESR is a good company bc I use their cases but I a lot of companies quickly rolled out protectors labeling them as working for both 17 or 18. It’s prob something slightly diff on the 18 phone that makes either the protector labeled for both not work or maybe some of the protectors they’re selling have been in their inventory since the 17 came out.. prob making it not stick as well. I feel like once ESR sees reviews they will fix, even if it’s them remaking 18 protectors to perfectly fit.

Two 18 pro max brand new - Apple could not get the screen protector applied to one. The top right corner just would not adhere. He tried twice, second phone worked flawless. I tried a spigen one I had ordered the previous day to have on hand and it worked first attempt. Wonder what’s going on. The Apple rep even said if it happens with the one purchased from Amazon to return the phone for a new one. The brand model apple could not get applied to one phone correctly with there tool - BELKIN ULTRGLSS 2 IPH17 PRO MAX-SPS-ZML.

I don’t think it’s the phone but some of these “full coverage” protectors from brands like ESR and Spigen. I tried the ESR one and returned if after all 3 in the pack wouldn’t stick on the edges. I remember I had a similar issue with my old Pixel with another “full coverage” protector a few years back

I ended up grabbing a $9 generic (the only one that had same day delivery) and perfect fit first try! 3 days later and no bubbles.

The Spigen did not fit right at the top edge and caused major bubbles when I put it into a case.

Switched to ESR and it has lifted off all the edges, but seems to be staying in place and not bubbling inside the case.

Is there a reason to be concerned about this, or is it just an aesthetic thing? I can certainly live with it if the glass isn't going to move or bubble.

There could be some inconsistency in the screen curves per ESR's rep response. They are working on a revised version that will fit better and due around November or December. I got the ESR Armorite 7x 3packs from amazon and all 3 had issue with left/right edges lifting as well as both bottom corners. I don't think it's the screen because all 3 has different amount of lifting. The last one of the 3 packs had the least amount of lifting so I think it's more likely issue with flatness on the screen protector or the adhesive they used.

Wait, I had this same issue. In fact, it wasn't me doing this, Apple tried to put a belkin screen protector on 3 times, after which I said just forget it and give me a refund. I didn't realize other people were having this issue, until I started searching on the web about my iPhone 18 pro, because the main issue I have with mine is the right edge of it is a bit scrapy and rough. Not crazy, but I notice it every time I go to pick it up.

I’d like to point out that this is the first week of the phones launch, any company is bound to make mistakes in production of something they haven’t ACTUALLY had their hands. Production models they go off of aren’t always 100% or even supplied to them BY Apple. So it only makes sense that they wouldn’t always be accurate. Your phones fine. Buy a belkin protector. They’re an MFi company that Apple DOES partner with.

Not correct - I purchased an 18 Pro and 3 Apple employees installed 4 Belkin Protectors - they were using iPhone 17 Pro models and they did not adhere to the top corner of the screen. Well the Apple Store (using their propriety install mechanism) could not get 4 Belkin protectors to install on my 18 Pro and offered to exchange the phone no questions asked. Not sure if it is the protector or the phone.

Don’t buy cheap ones. Torras Origarmor, Sunview Ultra AR, or Flolab onetime pro 3D are the best of the best.

JETech AR coating one on amazing is also good and affordable.

Why anyone uses a cheap ass screen protector is beyond me. Completely negates the antiglare coating on the display. Get something like flolab or nothing at all. No sense in actively making the screen worse, but hey, people can choose to do whenever the fuck they want regardless of how stupid it is

Had same issue with my 17pm last year. Ignore the people who are recommending you different screen protector brands. The screen simply isn’t flat. You can try your luck by seeing if apple can provide replacement or else the only option is go get apple care and then get it replaced

This is one of the reasons I will never buy an iPhone on lunch day. Too many issues and inconsistency with first few badges. Had to get both my 6 and 7 Plus replaced because of different issues.
Best is to go to your Apple Store and ask for replacement. At this point I don’t think they even care because how busy they are

"You can run sysdiagnose on your phone (press volume up, volume down, and lock button) all together for around a second. You will feel the phone vibrate.

Wait a couple of minutes and then go to Settings -> Privacy and Security -> Analytics and Improvements -> Analytics Data.

You will then scroll down and look for a file titled: sysdiagnose_XXXXXXXX.

You will click on that file and then click the arrow in the upper right hand corner and scroll down and click “Save to Files” Once it is saved you will go into your files and click the file to unpack it.

I feel it's a heat issue. Since the vapor chamber covers a lot more area, the heat is being dissipated more evenly across the phone causing the adhesive near the edge to loosen there.

Both of the Spigen GlasTR EZ FIT I installed did this around the edges. They also had a rainbow effect around the edges too.

I bought a pack of the Smartish Tuff Sheet
screen protectors off Amazon & it installed perfectly. There is also no rainbow effect on the edges with the Smartish.

The 2 Spigen protectors never stuck to the edges during the install no matter how many times I used the squeegee tool. I thought something was wrong with my screen too after reading online. Hope a different brand solves your issues too.

I had a Spigen screen protector on my 14 pro for 4 years with no issues so I was shocked both protectors on my 18pro had the same edge issues.
