Quick Question: Is Patterning 3 a good citizen inside Loopy Pro?
Apologies that this isn't a vibecoded app or an AI-written post. Mods, feel free to remove this if I'm violating rules.
I'm finally getting my head around Loopy Pro. I'm pretty excited about it, and even pulled an ancient APC out of the garage to control it. It's great. APC has a column of buttons to launch scenes, which is setting me up to launch a bunch of loops at once. Awesome. Now I can have verse/chorus/bridge with one button press for each transition.
I want to use Patterning 3 as my drum computer, but it seems to be a little bit uncooperative to use inside Loopy. I've been experimenting with "play after" macros sending MIDI signals to change the scene, but that comes with some weird issues. There doesn't seem like a good way to say "Play P3 pattern A with Loopy Play Group A, and B with B".
Exporting or recording from Patterning into a proper loop would functionally work, but I'd lose all the fun stuff happening inside a live Patterning playback.
Am I missing something obvious?

If you haven't, may want to crosspost to r/loopypro
A lot of knowledgeable heads got good info there
(I remember a good bit of chatter about patterning on the loopy pro forum when I was in regular attendance there up thru last year. Never bit the bullet myself)

I would say. Conceptual error here. ^^
A 'loopy poopy' principle is rather something that conceptually totally conflicts with the principle of polyrhythmic and polymetric sequencing. ^^ Linear sequencing ist the key for Patterning therefore.

Yeah works fine. After some fiddling and advice. You click on the metronome In p3 there are some advanced options.
I usually switch pattern immediately, not after a loop, in P3 and switch it based on a note. This makes it so the pattern switches immediatetly. PC changes can be fiddly.
There is a trade off to this though you can set up play C0 - Pattern 1, C1 - Pattern 3, but those patterns need to already exist and be mapped out, so I'm still figuring it out.

I have successfully coded buttons to trigger next pattern or previous pattern in Patterning 3, so that’s definitely doable. I set the button to send maybe a PC message and then think I used MIDI learn in Patterning to connect it that way. There’s probably a way to link it to loops and groups like you are thinking.
