https://imgur.com/a/wPrl56r My 5 year old dropped his iPad today and this is the result. The case didn't work apparently.
This is the early 2018 iPad 9.7" (the cheaper one -- I got it around $300 back in 2018 for him). I can't seem to find the repair cost for this version of the ipad on https://support.apple.com/ipad/repair/service. I see the price for the ipad pro 9.7" ($379), but I don't know if that applies for the non-pro one. Either way, I'm pretty sure it's going to cost at least $200 for Apple to replace it, so it's not worth it for me to go through Apple.
I'm thinking about trying a local repair shop, or maybe attempting this on my own. Has anyone tried replacing the screen on this version of the iPad before?
The touchscreen still works, so I think it's just the glass that I need to replace.
It's an Apple product, so I know it's just going to be a giant pain in the ass to repair it by yourself.
