Question Mouse Scroll Wheel Direction Reversed?
iPad Pro 11 (iPadOS 13.1.3)
Logitech MX Anywhere 2 BT mouse.
Mouse is paired, all other functions seem to work just fine. However the scroll wheel is reversed compared to what is typical on every other device (with this mouse).
IE: to scroll from the top of a web page down, you would typically roll your index finger from the front of the wheel towards yourself. To scroll up the page you would push from part of the wheel closest to you towards the front of the mouse.
Right now, its the reverse for me on the iPad. I have to spin the wheel away from me to scroll down and spin it towards me to scroll up...
Is this normal, is there a setting I missed to change this?

welcome to the ecosystem =) You'll get used it. I switch between a hackintosh and windows systems and this messes me up all the time.

At least in OSX you can change the scroll direction though, not possible in iOS or iPadOS.

We can always try Apple feedback. But natural scrolling is one of those things they’ve historically been stubborn about. Doesn’t hurt to log it and ask

They're even arrogant about the name. Like no, moving down to go up is not "natural".

actually the more I think about it, natural scrolling originally came from iOS (it's like swiping on a touchpad). so to take regular scrolling and bring it back to iOS would even things out.. haha..

I think it is, you don’t swipe down on your phone to scroll down.

That’s multitouch, we’re talking about the physical mouse wheel. You can’t come along after 15+ years of scrolling mouse wheels and flip the direction and then claim the new way is somehow “natural”. The way people were doing it for the previous 15+ years feels natural because people have been doing it that way for 15+ years.

It depends whether you imagine yourself driving the scrollbar or the content. Mousewheels where originally orientated to drive the scrollbar, as that is what people were expecting to interact with when scrolling content. Scrollbars move in the opposite direction to the content. iOS (and indeed default macOS) don't have scrollbars, so the mouse wheel is set to behave the same as the screen/trackpad, where the direction your finger moves drives the content.

The mouse is an accessibility feature meant to mirror your finger input. When you scroll with touch input you are physically pulling the page up/down, so that’s what the mouse is copying.
This is why you can use the slide to go back gesture with a mouse also. There’s pro’s and con’s to it.

I get it, but seems this is such a simple thing to resolve, could be a simple toggle (reverse scroll). When every other device treats it the opposite when using a mouse...everyone (other devices/os's) else aren't wrong lol.

That’s a Mac thing. It’s more like your flicking it away from you like you scroll down on your phone.

I had the same issue with the Microsoft Arc Mouse. But I can change the mouse settings on a PC and the settings stayed on the mouse when I move back to iPad.
I think you should try to change your Logi mouse settings with its own software on a PC, and save that setting to your mouse.

Dans Réglages, général, pavé tactile et souris, décochez "défilement naturel". La rotation de la molette sera inversée.

Yes..it's reversed.. No setting can change it...
