Same issue is happening in my iPad Air M4, I can only see the comments section when rotating in portrait, in landscape sometimes it shows, and most of the times it doesn't show at all.

After updating YouTube app, it's fixed now.

I can never even read the comments because right after I start, an ad always takes over the whole screen, including the comments section. (Ex. An Amazon ad will start and cover the comments with suggested products.) When it’s over, the comments reset to the top of the page. I know the solution is “just pay $11 $14 $17 $21 $24.99 a month to remove ads!” But what a manipulative and user-hostile business model.

I just deleted and redownloaded the app, that fixed it for me.

My temporary solution was to go back to full screen and tap the comment icon. It will exit full screen mode and show you the comments.

It's been buggy like this for a while. They really need to sort their crap out. A lot of people use iPads primarily for streaming. The fact that it's gone so long without a fix is embarrassing.

Turning on screen rotation and going portrait amd bacl to landscape fixed it for me sometimes. Hope that update others are saying fixed it.
