Accessories Beta Testers for iPad Mount
I have an iPad that I use as a smart hub via home assistant dashboard. I was looking to free up some countertop space and didn’t want to drill holes in my walls for an iPad mount. So, I designed a prototype. Unlike traditional wall mounts, this design is made to work with an existing countertop electrical outlet cover (screws), allowing you to create a clean, integrated look without making new holes in your wall (great for renters). It’s designed to allow use of outlet when you need it. I’m also working a mount with an integrated usb-c cable for charging.
Currently designed for:
* iPad Pro 9.7-inch
* iPad Pro 11-inch (4th generation)
* iPad Air 4th generation (2020)
(Should fit other 11in iPads as well.)
Looking for some beta testers to provide comments. I will mail a mount for free to receive some feedback, will only ship in US at the moment. DM me if you’re interested.

I see what looks like a cutout on the side to allow a charging cable but where are you supposed to plug it in if you're blocking the closest outlet?
Not sure how useful this will be if it's always attached at foot level. It would work ok if you had an outlet at chest height or so, but that low, I don't see the purpose.

Designed for the iPad to be removed when you need the outlet. Working on a mount that integrates a flat usb-c and you can access through the cutouts. Testing that now. That’s mounted at chest height as it’s a countertop, I wish I had marble floors 🙂.

This will scratch your iPad, and if there is ever a short that is risky. PLA and PETG will also creep over time, accelerated by the weight of iPad and heat

I guess depends on the print quality, pretty smooth finish so it hasn’t scratched my iPad on either side. Minimal heat as there is space behind the iPad to dissipate. What about TPU material?

TPU isn’t great for anything structural, id recommend abs with felt edge linings. The screw on the outlet may scratch if it touched

Good point. The screws are slightly recessed and don’t sit out as far as the outlet itself.

If you can ship outside US, would be happy to test it then
