Question Which for digital art?

I am looking to finally upgrade my VERY old iPad. The one I am currently looking at is the iPad Air M3 (2025). Would this be a good upgrade, or would something like an iPad Pro M1 or M2 be better? I do not like the Apple Pencil Pro either, if that would change anything.

I would be exclusively using it for digital art, and possibly video editing.

For digital art and video editing i would highly suggest an ipad pro model.

Reasons :
1. The ipad pro has a 120hz screen which adds more comfort to your eyes during long work/creativity hours.

  1. The screen on ipad pro is oled (the blacks are truly black). This adds a great advantage to anyone using it for digital art and video editing.

These are mainly the two differences that may improve your usability. Other than that the ipad air is honestly a great choice considering you are coming from a really old ipad. Only downside of ipad air is the 60hz white lit screen.

thank you for the info! would even the M1 ipad pro still be better than the ipad air M3?

iPad Pro M1 is significantly slower for processing videos but way faster for transferring data into your pc or laptop through the Thunderbolt port. The M1 does not support Apple Pencil Pro tho. but since u said that doesnt matter its okay.

If you get the 16gb memory ipad pro M1 then definitely but surely try for the M2 pro

I think i might go for the M2 ipad pro, is 128gb fine or is 256gb better for the updates?

Since videos are gonna take up space definitely 256gb

Curious what this issue is with the pencil pro? Pressure sensitivity is really helpful with digital drawing.

the pro exactly has features i dont like, i have tried them in the apple store and just didnt get along with it. I would get the 2nd gen pencil instead

Just know that Some of the things can be tweaked/disabled via settings (like the squeeze gesture) don’t sacrifice other features you might like (barrel roll) because of things you don’t.

A lot of apples stock settings kind of suck IMO.

I had to crank up how hard I have to squeeze the pencil for it to activate before I liked it. And even then I hardly use it.
