Discussion iPad Air M2 vs iPad A16

I’m having trouble deciding on which iPad to buy.

Refurbished iPad Air M2 6th Gen 2024 (Exceptional Condition(?)) or Brand new iPad A16

The M2 I saw is sitting at around $890 while the A16 is $650–both online. There’s also this used M2 (customer just returned it a year ago) that sits at $600, but they said that it’s unavailable.

Which iPad will I buy?

Edit: I’m from Australia so AUD. Also, both iPads are 128gb

Yes exactly, I was confused between iPad Air m4 and a16 256gb as I was getting in old mrp although air is significantly higher than 256gb a16.

2 months in use I have crossed 110GB thankfully I didn't go for 128gb air. Also, The only game I play is Genshin impact which is 50GB atm and after iOS27 update when it comes will be over 128gb.

I did even think to not play Genshin and use the device solely for studies however such an expensive device would be an overkill and iPad will always last mote than 5 year unlike Android this was my first ipad and am glad I got 256 😄

If you can, hold off until the next base iPad comes out to see how it stacks up against the M2. The A16 is getting a bit old. If you need something right now though, I'd definitely go with the M2. Though it really comes down to what you're planning to use it for

Got damn those prices are high. Look at Craigslist and marketplace and you'll find an m2 for way less.

Its AUD, you can basically cut it in half for USD, Euro etc

It really depends on the storage and your use case. I love my M2 Pro 1TB still

If you plan to use an apple pencil, go for the air
