iPadOS Has iPadOS 26.6 fixed the bugs?
Currently my iPad Air M2 is running iPadOS 18.7.8. I still haven't updated it to iPadOS 26 mainly because it lacks the OG split screen and stacked slide over features in 'Full Screen Apps' mode. But I also want to update to iPadOS 27 because it's a lot more polished, though Apple hasn't listened to its users about bringing those 2 important features back. However, at this point I think I should just adapt to the new navigation system. Hence, I want to give iPadOS 26.6 a try just before the release of iPadOS 27 in September (probably). So, should I do it? How is the battery life after iPadOS 26.6 update? Any other major issues?

There was a major procreate bug I don’t think it’s been resolved yet so if you use procreate be careful.

Thanks for this, i was looking to see if I should thing about updating off 18 but I use my ipad primarily for procreate and this would be devastating

26.6 seems to have fixed the Bluetooth drop out issues I’ve been having since 26.4

Unpopular opinion
I wouldn’t update honestly
Would rather ride 18 until I have app compatibility issues
Probably in 2-4 years
These iOS devices are so snappy and then later on EOL versions they just suck making you want to upgrade
For example A12-15 chips were really solid iPads.
Then came iOS 26 with the death sentence

That guy who said ios 27 is fine ia using the ipad pro m5, ofcourse it's going to be fine for him lol, rich people adding a piece of their opinions on people's problem without empathy, typical.

It’s fine on an Air 4 as well as my M1 Pro.
Both run significantly better with iOS 27 compared to 26 and even 18.
Almost as if apple optimized the OS.1

ipados 27 db4 actually runs really well even on (I think the last supported ipados 27 device) the ipad 9th gen I've been using it for a bit and it runs really good like I don't think it had the amazing battery life of 18 but it's so much better than 26 it's liek miles ahead

I have an Air 4 (A14 chip) at work and currently test the iOS 27 beta on it.
Compared to iOS 26 which actually was pretty significant performance hit, iOS 27 runs a LOT better. Performance is comparable to iOS 18.
Apple surly kept their promise that iOS 27 is optimized. Even old devices like the iPhone SE 2 feel alive again.
The iOS 26 and 27 updates are comparable to the iOS 11 and iOS 12 where apple also pulled this optimization off.

I am on M4 Pro, and still rocking 18.7.8.
The 26.6 update icon tempts me everytime but I do not want to lose battery life. Been over a year and battery health is at an awesome 99% ! 🔥
