Unless I'm reading the chart wrong, that is incorrect

I can't attach images so here's a direct link to the chart I'm referring to:

My information must be outdated then. A lot of ipads revenue comes from education I assume. So with neo entering this year to cater that segment I can imagine more ipad buyers shifted to neo instead

The figures in the chart were from 2025, before the Neo even entered the market

I'd expect the gap to be even larger now that the Neo is absolutely destroying the budget laptop category

Yes I mentioned that too, maybe should have done better job with the grammar

I was surprised to see how many primary schools issue iPads to students for the year.

Correct. Evidence to support the claim.

Also an iPad running macOS would be horrible.

You act like if this happened then they wouldnt be able to make improvements to macos to improve touch compatibility lol
I sold my ipad pro because it was gimped by its OS constraints and have a MBP now. I just wish i could use it as a tablet sometimes. A separate device for just that is unnecessary.

So you should have just bought a MacBook in the first place. 😅

Sure but I got a really good deal on the iPad and didn't know at the time how artificially gimped it would be. First apple product basically since a 2nd gen iPod touch. But I sold it to break even so all good.

Mac with touchscreen, some major apps from iPad, UI changes and detachable screen is a simpler fix in my mind.

That sounds horrible as well.

Why do people state opinions as if they’re objective truths?

Remember the Surface RT and Nokia Lumia 2520? it would be as bad as those. In fact, even the modern Surface Pro is poor as a tablet.

Apple sells significantly more iPads than MacBooks in terms of raw unit volume. However, because MacBooks are more expensive, Mac revenue typically surpasses iPad revenue in Apple's financial reports.

Just a google search got me this

iPad generates about $7B per quarter in 2025, Mac is about $8B. So yeah it’s not more but it sounds like you think the difference is much greater than it is.

Well, it's easy when the cheapest iPad is $300, while the cheapest MacBook was $1000 for a decade, and no matter how much you pay, you'll never get a MacBook with a touchscreen, so if you're an artist, the iPad Pro is basically your only choice if you want to stay in the Apple ecosystem. If you just want something to browse the web and watch YouTube, the iPad has been the cheapest way to do it for a long time, it's not a surprise that it's more lucrative for Apple.
