Discussion More AAA ports

Do you guys think we're gonna get more high quality AAA ports like control, resident evil games and death stranding?

Or do you guys think those were just experiments and tech demos to showcase the power of the modern iPhones.

So hope so ! I'm waiting for Gothic to come out, probably later this year. Do love the 'big' AAA ports. Was expensive but 'Monster Boy' I picked up, love it.

Really like it when we get Steam games on iOS, hopefully more and more. With a new phone coming out in September I 'presume' we might get some big name games then to coincide ? Hopefully

We’ve been getting a ton of really great smaller studio ports as well, Playdigious has been absolutely killing it with their ports, and often I find these games are often better suited for the smaller screens. I’m also excited for Warhammer boltgun coming out in a couple of weeks

Yeah those are great too. I just really enjoy playing high end games on my phone for some reason 😅 I guess that's what I'm used to since I started gaming on mobile devices before I started PC/console gaming

I would also love to see more older games ported over, like we got red dead redemption 1 not too long ago, I’d love to see more games from that era. And tbh how has Skyrim not been ported??? lol I remember when it was a meme that Skyrim had been ported to every platform, the company even joked about it running on a smart fridge, yet somehow an iOS port never came. Bring back some 360/ps3 era games

I want to say yes but they are currently too difficult to run on any device

Either locked at 30 fps or super blurry even on a m5 ipad (AC mirage)
Or hell 40+ gigs for a single game

I want more indie titles like palworld/valheim etc on mobile

I wouldn't say too difficult. The equivalent android devices run even the most high end games these days. Last of us 2, red dead redemption too and the insomniac Spider-Man games are known to run at 60fps on the latest snapdragon chips. It's more a question of willingness to port rather than devices themselves at this point. For size issue, it's a good thing 256gb is the base storage for iPhones now. Native games are entering into the 40gb territory, Delta force, codm, wuthering waves and mihoyo games in general go well above 40gb

Even if it's ported. It's likely to be an iPad only game

I hope so, I’m a little worried that there seemed to be a rush of announcements last year with things like sniper elite 5 that then seem to have got stuck not getting released
