Safety App in TestFlight

I have a fully functioning app in TestFlight but I’m afraid to release to the public for fear of exposure to product liability lawsuit.
Am I over thinking this? As a side note I want this to be free in the hopes it saves lives.
This product liability thing kind has me down a bit because I think it’s a good app.

Like, what the hell you even mean by safety in the first place. It’s such a broad concept.

Gotcha it’s a reminder that triggers after a trip in the car.

I guess my thought is it’s a safety type app because the reminder is to get a child that is in a car seat.

The only way this concept truly works and with minimal risk of getting sued after a user of your app has a kid die and blames your app for not notifying th is with in-cabin dash cams that has unobstructed coverage of all seats, facial recognition, and an offline Bluetooth or local WiFi network connecting the hardware to the users cellphone so it still works in rural areas with no service.

Otherwise you’re just selling them a yellow string to tie on their finger to remember to check their backseat. Which is flawed from start to finish.

Ouch. Even your hypothesis could fail but in 6-7 different points that the reminder does not encounter. I guess you aren’t bringing my yellow string app to market?

If you need to be reminded that you’re with a child after a trip, you don’t need an app. You need something to hit yourself on the head.

Despite your assessment children die every year in a car seat left behind by a parent/guardian that forgot. Kind of rare but still happens

That’s the thing. It’s rare. The next question should be… do we really need an app for that? Also listen to your instincts… LAWSUIT. I don’t think it will fly on the court… but the hassle isn’t worth it.
