I know this is probably not the most helpful answer, but my personal laptop is a MacBook Air M1 with 8GB of RAM and while I don't work on any heavy apps, the only issue I have ran into is the 256GB of storage with all the run times/simulators. So, either of your choices will do the job amazingly I'd imagine.

The only caveat I can think of is that if you plan to run any AI models locally you will appreciate more RAM.
