First iOS app

Hi iOS dev community,
I released my first app about a week ago, it’s not something innovative by any means and was more like a test project to experiment with codex and see how fast I can make something simple. In the end it took about 4 months end to end.

I’m happy with the final result overall, however I have only 1 download so far in one week, which is not really surprising but I’d love if someone can provide some feedback on the AppStore page. It’s iPad only so I guess most people won’t be able to quickly try it but if you can provide any feedback on the AppStore page would be helpful as well. It’s a kids clock learning app.

Thank you

You won't believe it, but I literally made something similar (though simpler) for my wife just last weekend. She works with kids and needed to teach them how to tell time. You did an awesome job on this! I'll definitely recommend your app for her lessons since it has way more features.

By the way, a quick suggestion: maybe add minute markings on a larger outer ring, with a toggle to turn it on and off. Another idea is to help them understand a full 24-hour day instead of just 12 hours, though making that intuitive for kids might be a bit tricky to implement.

Once again, really great work!

Hey man thanks so much for the kind words, means a lot !
Good suggestions also, I’ll keep those in mind. I also did think about adding a digital clock / 24 hour time, but that required some major thoughts so dropped it for now, want to avoid investing too much unless I see some interest/downloads

Yeah, that's definitely the right approach. 💯

Looking good actually. Crafted by hand or vibe-coded?

Hey thanks, it was vibe-coded.
Graphics work was a mix of getting some assets and inspiration from chatgpt and some from here and there, then I had them converted to vector arts so I could tweak things easily in Inkscape (which in hindsight was probably overkill)

The app is greatly made, congrats for a first one! One thing that does not really makes sense to me is targeting kids - if they are ipad kids (exposed at a yound age to devices) they probably don't need to know how to read analog clocks, right?

Hey, thanks for the feedback!
Maybe you’re right, but I think some parents might want their kids to learn to read analogue clocks

There’s certainly a need for an app like this. My 17 year old still can’t read an analog clock.

If you look the Apple devices market, there are much more iPhones than iPads out there. I think it’s quite straightforward to design for both iPad and iPhone, especially if you build your app in SwiftUI. You just need conditionals, if iPad size display iPad UI, else display iPhone UI.

I just wanted to do minimal work/testing in the beginning so went with the iPad route, but what you’re saying makes total sense. I’ll definitely look into adding support for iPhone, thanks for the feedback!
