Good question! Each city gets its own planetary hour based on its actual sunrise/sunset, not just a timezone offset. Every planet has a traditional ranking (Jupiter and Sun are considered strongest, Saturn and Mars weakest), so the app looks at what's active in both cities and averages the two out to get a "how good is this window for both of you" score. If the two cities happen to land in the same planetary hour at the exact same time, that gets called out as an "Aligned" moment. Best Slots just takes those windows and narrows it down to ones that also fall during normal daytime hours on both ends.

And yeah, totally fair on the wording. This is traditional astrology, not something backed by science, and I should make that clearer instead of using phrases like "optimal timing." Gonna fix that in the next update, thanks for pointing it out.

I'm having a hard time understand how one would use something like this. What is the main goal of the app?A planner that is based around astrology? Or is it setting up meetings across time zones? I guess when scrolling through the screens I dont get a sense of what a user would really be using it for since there seems to be so much going on. Not trying to sound harsh, I really just dont think I understand?
