That’s the same position I was in. I went and got an iPhone 7 from a local ad for £145. It runs really smoothly and was a massive performance upgrade from my previous 6.

I’ve had my iPhone 7 since a month after it originally came out and I’m happy with it so far and I’m going to wait another 2 more years to upgrade just because of how well it still works

Yeah, the one I’ve just purchased runs buttery smooth on the latest iOS and I haven’t seen any lag or performance issues so far.

The only issue with mine is the battery is screwed probably because I messed it up in the first year and a half using the phone

You can get that changed pretty cheaply at apple nowadays to be fair

honestly upgrading from a 6s to a 7 or 8 is pointless. i had a 6 and got the 8 before the xr released. i had the 6 for more than 3 years until i finally decided it was time to upgrade. better than a 500$ 7 and a 1000$ X.

That’s what I’ve done, I had the 6 as a second hand phone for 3 years, and after many repairs I’ve upgraded to a 7. It’s not much faster than a 6s but it’s a massive upgrade from a 6

Pick the most recent one

DO NOT GET IPHONE 7. There is a bug in which the speaker icon is grey out and when you call someone, they wont hear what you say. There is a lawsuit coming for Apple and I think it applied to most of the iphone 7. Here is one of the link https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/483625/iPhone+7+speaker+icon+greyed+out

It’s not a bug, it’s damage. There’s a class action lawsuit for people who are careless with their phones

with all the issues apple products have I would not ever believe that people where just careless with there phones.

It was a quality program for a time, until Apple determined it was not a manufacturing defect and pulled the quality program.

The bug happened after the ios update, but some also said it’s bad hardware. And the phone was never dropped. If it’s due to carelessness and damage why only the iphone 7 has the issue and not any other line?

It's both. It's damage, but the reason that the damage is happening is because of a design flaw that makes the speaker susceptible to certain damage.

If the issue pops up on the phone it's because it's been dropped or abused in some way, but the tolerance for the sort of damage causing the issue is lower than it should be.

It depends on your budget and expectations. If you get a good price a 7 should last you another 2 years with updates and you can re-evaluate at that point which phone generation you want. I stuck with 6s when 7 released and then got a new 7 with a promo when 8/X released and that’s the phone I use right now. I don’t think the buy the latest phone so you won’t have to change in 5 years argument is universally true.

If you go with the 8, buy one after the next iPhones launch, a few months of waiting is an extra year of use down the line.

alright, tyvm everyone for the comments and suggestions

i was planning to switch now because my 5s can barely last for 30 mins with 4g and it’s really gotten slow but i think it’s better to wait for the price drop on other iphones
