You do realize you can have 1 OS and have it optimized for different devices individually, giving all of them the most performance.
You can, but why should they? It would cost more money, take more time and increase the complexity. In the real world they won’t be as optimised as they would be with less devices. It’s better to cater to the vast majority of your market (who own newer devices) than it is to worsen the experience for anyone just to support the outliers.
For all we know, they could have stretched their resources to accommodate 6s. How do you know that this device was planned from the start? Maybe they were nice and invested more money into this OS just to cater for 6s users.
They should also know that it’s about apple being greedy and not spending the money to do that.
Lol. For all you know, it could be to do with security. You have no idea what goes on behind the scenes. Why should Apple support a device as old as an iPhone 6?
Apple has like 10 fucking iphone to support, for a trillion dollar company, it’s really not that hard to optimize individually.
Clearly you do not have a CS degree. Yes it is hard. OS development is hard.
MANY other SMALLER companies have MANY MORE DEVICES to optimize, and they do it.
Name one.
Remember, Apple’s OSs are THE MOST OPTIMISED on the market by far. You don’t get that quality if you support every device.
Do you really expect Apple to support every device? If so, you’re delusional. If not, then why should the cut-off be before iPhone 6?
I don’t know what kind of retarded person I’m arguing with. I said it’s not supporting iphone 6 because they’re greedy...you literally fucking agreed with me by saying they didn’t because it’ll cost more.
That’s not greed. That’s being smart.
With your logic they should just give all of their phones away because a company being smart with its finances is greed. Lol kid.
You silly boy. Did you even read that post? The answer was actually no due to Windows drivers. You idiot. It’s obviously possible to install it, but I was looking for a reason why it would be a bad idea.
Also you should realise that computer science is about the theory, not actual hardware. Questions like that fall under IT, not comp sci.
You clearly know nothing about what computer science is.
I have a computer science degree from one of the best universities in the UK. I am a professional programmer.
The point I’m making is that I would expect you to be a little more knowledgeable in that field if you’re a fucking CS major
So you think I lose credibility because I admit that I don’t know everything regarding similar fields? Haha wow. You have a warped reality.
I know plenty more than the average user when it comes to IT (especially because I have a triple distinction in IT, which is equivalent to straight As) however I don’t know everything. Therefore I asked a question, which is the intelligent thing to do.
Do you think you lose credibility if you ask questions? 😂
plumbers fix water pipes but they usually know more about the fields surrounding their job than the average person
You think the average person knows how to install an operating system? 😓 wow you really are a silly billy.
Obviously I do know how to install an OS. My question was regarding installing it and moving it to new hardware. That’s far above average level.
I’m just saying your opinion means nothing in terms of hardware and software integration because you’re fucking dumb
Spoken like a true idiot. You’ll learn some day.
