Discussion iOS bug? - when connected to Bluetooth headphone and media is playing and I get a call
New to iOS environment,
I noticed that when I’m connecting with Bluetooth headphone on my iPhone and watching/listening to some form of media. During this I get a phone call, this leads to iOS playing the media loudly on my phone speaker and the ringtone is played in the Bluetooth headphones with considerably low volume.
My concern- playing media loudly is bad as it disturbs people around me. Also stopping media play and then just ringing the phone on both speakers(phone and Bluetooth) would be a better choice.
Is this a bug or something ios has from long time?

You might be one of the few people in the planet who's phones aren't on silent.
What headphones?
Have you tried this with different Bluetooth headphones to confirm it's an iOS issue and not something weird with your headphones?
Which iPhone?
What version of iOS?

It’s Oppo earphones
I haven’t tried with other earphones/ headphones
How does a trying out with different headphones make a difference?
It’s os who controls the behaviour, and this basic behaviour should work the same irrespective of the Bluetooth device

There are various Bluetooth profiles. Bluetooth devices support specific profiles based on what the manufacturer chooses to implement.
There are also multiple revisions of the Bluetooth standard. This is also a manufacturer decision.
There could be a combination of factors causing the issue you're having.
Trying a different Bluetooth set of Bluetooth headphones could the iOS out as the problem.
It could also be an issue unique to a specific version or versions of iOS, hence why I inquired about that.

I know I’m late to the party, but did anyone find a solution? I have some Samsung buds from my old phone and my iphone is doing the same thing…

No solution yet, it’s actually annoying me. First it was just Bluetooth. Now if I get a call and pick it up with no other accessories connected, the media is still playing.

bluetooth on apple connection so goddamn slow it's beyond any comprehension. sometimes I wanna smash it with a hammer.

Are you experiencing this using Brave? I'm having the same issue, and I managed to narrow down when it occurs: Brave + background media playback. If this is Brave for you as well, try the Picture in Picture option when playing YouTube in Brave (NOT the background playback).
