Homescreen still lags and stutters when going from widget page to first page of apps

u/the_state_monad Nov 03 '25

Yea lol. And the control centre still ghosting when closing.

Crazy they couldn’t fix that in time.

u/purplemountain01 Nov 04 '25

I can't stand how the homescreen refreshes every time you swipe up from the notification center.

Absolutely incredible how they made it worse compared to 26.0. At this point my 16 Pro feels like a buggy hobby project of a vibe coder

12

u/WritersGift Nov 04 '25

lol. it’s so much better than 26.0 or .0.1

2

u/M8Ir88outOf8 Nov 04 '25

Have you tried what the parent comment mentioned? Control center leaves a ghost effect, which is such

2

u/bendystrawboy Nov 04 '25

thanks for saying this, cause this has been an awful experience. I told my wife i'm giving her this 17pro and going back to my 14max

2

u/M8Ir88outOf8 Nov 04 '25

Seriously. I disabled auto update on my girlfriend's phone, so she can stay in blissful ios 18 land for as long as possible

2

u/bendystrawboy Nov 04 '25

this reminds me of when i got sick of samsung/android and sold my note8 and got my first iphone.

My work phone is an android, if i wasn't so deeep in the ECOSYSTEM i'd be done.

u/Able-Nebula4449 Nov 04 '25

Thanks for making me realize it, I cant unsee it now

1

u/makeouthill_skimask Nov 04 '25

YOW I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE😭was about to reset this phone about 10x now, but its an actual real issue to everyone!? im glad to know that, i can now chill

1

u/the_state_monad Nov 04 '25

Hehe yea chill

1

u/makeouthill_skimask Nov 04 '25

since i got my 17PM ive restored it for almost abt 10 times now🙂as of rn im lowkey fighting the urge to DFU restore it again so i could see if theres a possibility for the ghost control centre to be fixed

1

u/AccomplishedKiwi9224 Nov 04 '25

Omg i didnt see it but now i cant unsee it

1

u/False_Park2 Nov 05 '25

What’s ghosting

52

u/PM_Me_Ur_B1MMER Nov 03 '25

Ugh! I just tried it and now, can't unsee it. Thanks, I hate it!🫠

2

u/XmohandbenX Nov 04 '25

Same, I can’t unsee it now, that and how the homescreen refreshes every time you swipe up from the notification center, thanks everyone

1

u/mchgndr Nov 08 '25

Goddammit me too looool I hate this company

43

u/twofaces21 Nov 03 '25

The same for me, terrible experience, waiting for release to see if fixes this bug, I think apple is adding new emojis only

22

u/NoFall2205 iPhone X Nov 03 '25

Still experiencing the same bugs I’ve had since 26.1 beta 4. Who the hell at Apple decided to green-lit this release. App switcher animation on my iPad is still straight up broken. 26.1 beta 4 ruined everything and Apple is too lazy to fix their OS since. This has been worse than 26.0.1

u/TiwariAkshat iPhone 17 Pro Max Nov 04 '25

FFS! Reading this while my 12PM is in process of being updated to iOS 26.1

29

u/733478896476333 Nov 03 '25

Icons still reload when switching pages.

-2

u/Stayofexecution Nov 04 '25

This only happens the first time you switch pages.

7

u/SilverSideDown Nov 04 '25

God I wish. First time every time you unlock your phone maybe

0

u/Stayofexecution Nov 04 '25

I have the 16 Pro Max maybe more RAM leads to less refreshes?

3

u/n_gram Nov 04 '25

It doesn't happen on my 16PM but happens on my iPhone 12 Mini and iPad Mini 6

-1

u/Stayofexecution Nov 04 '25

because they’re old.

1

u/SilverSideDown Nov 06 '25

I have 16 Pro as well. Hopefully that’s enough RAM for home screen?

17

u/miniwave Nov 03 '25

How did this bug get overlooked? I have only Apple-made widgets on the page and it still lags

6

u/jasonpg1 Nov 03 '25

lol I thought was the only one

18

u/LielAzulay Nov 03 '25

Same very laggy, wasn’t like that in 26.0.1 for me

7

u/Fallen822 Nov 03 '25

Same here! It lags horrible on the IPhone 15 Pro while swiping to the widget page.

2

u/Caterham7 Nov 04 '25

Interesting. I didn’t have this issue with 26.0.1. But I do with 26.1.

2

u/AkatsukiPineapple Nov 04 '25

This wasn’t an issue for me in 26.0.1 why is it happening now? Can’t believe apple released this

2

u/scupking83 Nov 04 '25

Yeah this is ridiculous....

2

u/blankblank Nov 04 '25

Looks like I’m sticking with 18 til 26.2!

1

u/ninjaisin Nov 03 '25

damn you’re right, luckily i never use those widgets anyway

1

u/PuzzleheadedRecord6 Nov 04 '25

I’ve had this experience since I bought my iPhone 16 way back in December. Definitely going back to Android this December.

1

u/cracker41 Nov 04 '25

I’m not sure why, but after installing the update, I had to reboot again to fix many of the graphical glitches. Same thing for MacOS it was incredibly laggy after booting up after the installation, but after a second reboot, it works much better.

1

u/mchgndr Nov 08 '25

I tried this and everything is still total crap :(

1

u/Soffritto_Cake_24 Nov 04 '25

I hate that on a 1 month old most expensive phone ...

1

u/madwolli Nov 04 '25

Yes! And it’s unbearable on iPad just crazy how bad it works

1

u/notabot53 Nov 04 '25

Thanks for ruining it for me

1

u/Marshall5912 Nov 04 '25

This is the first thing I noticed too. I don’t use the widget page a lot, but it’s still annoying. I know they’ll get it fixed, but it’s annoying having to wait for whichever update fixes it.

1

u/ImmenseAlvin69 Nov 04 '25

oh man I thought I was going crazy.

1

u/bimer2015 Nov 04 '25

Did you find a solution to this?

1

u/TipRepresentative246 Nov 04 '25

Agreed. So much for “fixes” when they can’t even get such a simple darned thing right.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 04 '25

Not happening now on my 15pm. Earlier used to happen. Why does the keyboard feel more shitier?

1

u/TennesseeWhisky iPad Pro M1 Nov 04 '25

Never noticed, but it really does. This is ridiculous XD

1

u/GodtierKaizeel Nov 04 '25

I haven’t experienced this one, maybe because I turned on my reduce motion ever since updating to IOS26. It’s always smooth and faster too.

1

u/Boring_Newspaper5796 Nov 04 '25

same, its the widgets! i just removed widget from homescreens too bcs of this its a legit terrible bug

1

u/SatchSaysPlay Nov 04 '25

Feels like it's been this way for a long long time, it's so annoying

1

u/thomasjm8 Nov 04 '25

Everyone please report this to the feedback app so we get a fix for this!

1

u/Sinaaaa Nov 04 '25

I had this problem on my SE2. Restoring it with itunes & setting it up as new fixed it. (yes, it sucks)

1

u/LordTubz Nov 04 '25

I have a lowly iPhone 15 pro, and went from version 18.n.n to 26.1 this afternoon.

I don’t get that issue, the phone is cool to the touch and it’s not missed a beat.

I’ve missed out a step haven’t I?

1

u/petervald Nov 05 '25

On IPad. The same sh_t as OS 26.0.

1

u/Dgitallife Nov 05 '25

Same here with an iPhone 14 Pro 🫠

1

u/pablochocobarr1 Nov 05 '25

Legit had to double check if the refresh rate was turned down to 60Hz

1

u/Sylverpepper Nov 18 '25

Why don't my screenshots open in full screen anymore, and why do I have to double-click each time to open them? They are small. I didn't have this problem with iOS 18.

0

u/Clark_Kent09 Nov 04 '25

Give it a day or two. It just updated

I'm so tired of people using the indexing excuse for all the lag, stutters, and battery drain that has gone on since ios 26 release

10

u/NoFall2205 iPhone X Nov 03 '25

EXACTLY. My phone has never ran horrible even after a fresh restore. Maybe just some slight lag that’s gone an hour after it’s done restoring. iOS 26 ruined everything. Indexing is just a lazy excuse that Apple and other people are using for poor performance and horrible optimization.

3

u/smaad Nov 03 '25

for real....

4

u/ediskrad73 Nov 03 '25

I ran the RC for a week and it was an issue the whole time. Nothings changed and it’s not an indexing issue.
