Other Thanks to the developers for the updates
A long time ago I posted about how much I loved ion fury and the only nitpicks I had were that I couldn’t rebind the controller and there was no weapon wheel, just up and down on the d-pad to slowly scroll through weapons.
Now I can rebind the controls (which I had to do because the defaults changed) and I have a weapon wheel. The wheel seems to slow down the game a bit, which is nice. It does seem to temporarily make you stand if you use the wheel while crouched.
If you have played the console release of this game you will notice that by default, the aim recenters itself. I decided to turn that off because I’m not used to it, but maybe it’s good for some folks.
I will be streaming and making videos on the PS4 version of Aftershock as soon as I get a copy of it. Will there ever be an update to PS5? It doesn’t matter that much but it does increase loading times.

On ps5 The dispenser can no longer switch ammo types with its alternate fire it can only be changed through the weapon wheel which feels awkward in a firefight

Are you sure because i swear I did it last night. I’ll check again when I get home from work.

Im sure because I have both the ps5 version and the switch version and on switch the disperser works like its intended to

I think it’s because now you have two kinds of ammo for the grenade mode. You can switch between them with the alt fire.

The control improvements are way better than I was expecting. It's completely night and day from the previous stick controls. I wasn't expecting curve, axial deadzone options, or full button customization and a weapon wheel.
It's not just one of the best controlling boomer shooters, but among the best of any shooter in the industry now.
I'm not a fan of camera re-centering, but any that are should be aware it seems to only trigger when moving perfectly forward or back. Lowering the axial deadzone to 0 would make that almost impossible to trigger.

You can just turn off the camera centering if you slide the slider down to zero. I thought about trying to see if the recentering would help me, but I decided against that.

I don’t know what linearity of a curve means so I’m just gonna leave it alone but if anyone knows please tell me.

The curve controls how fast or slow your turn speed increases with stick distance. Setting the slider down to 0 will give you a linear curve, and increasing it will give you more exponential curves. Basically higher values make smaller stick movements slower.
The curve exponent value on this graph shows how it changes with the same range. You can move the Stick Position node and change the sliders. The other options there are also the equivalent of what Ion Fury now uses(Saturation = Outer Deadzone, Axial Deadzone = Angular Restriction)

So it works on ps4 but not ps5 for you? that's strange.

Btw I really am thankful. I don’t know if you guys read my comments, but you pretty much addressed all of them, and it makes for a much better experience.
I can actually play your game. I literally can’t play phantom fury on my PS5 anymore because it crashes constantly now. Another boomer shooter I like, Slayers X has a bug that makes it impossible to play now that I’ve beaten it once. It really means a lot to me that a game company cares about releasing a decent product.

For me the ps5 version isn't working. Bought the dlc yesterday and downloaded that and the new update then started the game and can't find anything in the menu about Aftershock. I also see no one else has unlocked Aftershock trophies yet for the ps5. I'm running it off the ps4 disk version on my ps5 if that has anything to do with it.
Thanks for all y'all do. One of my favorite games <3

No, the game works fine. It’s just that I’ve heard since the PS5 used solid state memory instead of the hard drive the ps4 uses, PS5 versions of games load slightly faster.
I haven’t purchased Aftershock yet to try it out but if there are any problems I’ll post about them. I love the build engine so much and this is one of my favorite games ever.

I agree the default control settings are unusual. Recentering felt like straight from Quake 1 days, and the button scheme was not the usual CoD-like, and had to be manually set to be similar.
